You would be surprised how well financed some D3 colleges are. There are grants, endowments, and scholarships (usually based on some academic or service criteria or income level) galore at some of the better financed D3 colleges. I also know that there are opportunities for low interest loans.
I know a D3 athlete who went to a college years ago that was a total of $60K for 4 years, and ended up paying only $20K (including loans) to attend, with the remaining $40k covered by grants, endowments, and scholarships.

There are approximately 75 kids on the Juniata football roster. 75 x $40,000 is alot of money when you start talking about academic scholarships, grants and financial aid. Not even considering the OTHER sports at Juniata, both mens and womens.

That's such a tough sell, though. I know Juniata is a good school, but the tuition is high and there are no scholarship... and its HUNTINGTON. You can only go to Raystown so many times before you realize it sucks.

One of my buddies plays there. He pays 7,000 a year out of pocket and has 6,000 a year in loans. Everything else is covered. 13,000 a year for a 40,000 a year school isn't a bad deal at all.

So he is shelling out about 28k, and will have 24k in loans. That's still a heck of a lot of money, though.

Are his folk's "well off"? I mean how much financial aid is he given based on his parent's income? Getting $27,000 per year might be MORE than a kid gets to attend Pitt or Penn state per year on a full ride.
Re: Where in the World is Carmen Felus?
from a financial standpoint alota kids would be better suited trying to walk on to IUP cal or somewhere if possible. Sure they may get no money but its still a heck of a lot cheaper
Re: Where in the World is Carmen Felus?
I'd like to know what happens to all the money "football players" are given at Juniata, if they quit the team after a year or two. Guess the have to transfer to another cheaper school, or pay MORE of the $40,000 out of pocket?
