me neither, honestly i believe they made a mistake going with dane at qb over him in pinks absents last year. that team would've been much more versatile with dane at wr and cooper at qb during pinkertons injury, plus cooper wouldve gained alot of experience last year.

It seems to be a theme with Salem that he doesn't like to go with "younger" guys at QB. Mid 2000's, Sheridan (Sr. can't remember first name) and Defrances (sophomore) were on the same squad. Sheridan was average at best, and we all know what type of QB Defrances was. I always thought, and posted on here back then, that Defrances should have been a 3 year starter for the Crushers.
Interesting stuff. I think sometimes though as a coach it has to be tough to turning the reigns over to an unknown, unproven underclassmen, even though the talent is known to be there.
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!

Cooper has done very well, and I agree Op, DeFrances should have started for 3 straight years. He had so much more talent, and a stronger arm. And that was Mike Sheridan.
The interesting thing is, McCort was mulling the decision of bringing up a very talented Freshmen. Which is what they did with DeFrances, and it made no sense because he didn't even start till junior year. But I don't see the point of bringing up a Freshmen if he is only going to play JV and to be a back up, and like Jordan, this kid won't start until his junior year. But this kid is REAL good. Crusher Freshmen through three games are outscoring opponents 116-6. So things are looking up for the Crushers.

OG
i do agree with you that i could see a coach being weary to play an unexperienced guy, even if more talented, at qb over the guy with experience. and i do remember when sheridan was qb and alot of fans and parents grumbling to put defrances in as a sophmore. but no sense debating who should've been the starting qb for a team 6 years ago but still a great point made by you.

Really? What is his name? I need to start hating it...j/kCrimson09Crazy wrote: But this kid is REAL good. Crusher Freshmen through three games are outscoring opponents 116-6. So things are looking up for the Crushers.
I will have to make to the FH/McCort J. High game. I have heard the Ranger Frosh are looking pretty good themselves. That might be a good game to go attend.

Well McCort and Forest Hills are the only undefeated freshmen teams left for freshmen, and wouldn't you know that game isn't on the freshmen schedule. I swear the LHAC is anti having the two best programs play each other!!! That would've been a great game. Unbelievable.
Neiderhiser is the kid's name. Lefty, strong armed.
They also have two Wideouts standing at 6-2, at least. Some big kids up front, and a few Good Linebackers. Really impressed with them, saw them play against Penn Cambria.
What do the Rangers have coming up?

Re: LHAC Week 5.
The Sheridan story was interesting. Not sure what year it was ( 2003, 2004, 2005????), but for 2 years, McCort's QB was a Robert's kid, and he did kinda good. Then, for no reason, he is pulled for the 9th game of his senior year, and Salem started Sheridan at the Point against Bedford. Well, BM destroys Bedford and then enters the 1st round of the playoffs the next week at FH. With only ONE start under his belt, BM with Sheridan at the helm is destroyed by FH in the first round. Always wondered why the veteran Roberts didn't start that game. Salem's decision? Hey, maybe he let the players decide. Who knows?
