Taking Bedford out of the equation, it looks like Somerset and Claysburg will battle for 1-2 playoff spots and Ebensburg and Patton will go after 3-4 with St. Michael and Lilly as darkhorses. Lilly coming on strong now that Lassak is back (and apparently quit AAABA) but not sure there's enough time. Richland, Stoystown look like they still play too many of the top teams to make a run. Haven't seen a Westmont score for awhile. Did they drop out?

Westmont DID drop out. The Saints lost earlier this week to Lilly 3-2. Should have won, but the little things went Lilly way in the last inning, and pulled it out for Lassak in relief. Saints won't make it, I'm afraid. Next year.
It ain't over until it's over.

Typical Westmont! Things don't go their way and they bail.
I hope the power that be never allow them back in!

If Westmont dropped out, do the teams that already played them still get the wins/losses against them because those games could shape the playoff seedings.

All games they played count as they ended. All remaining games are 7-0 forfeits.

Somerset not doubt is the better team talent wise, but anything can happen.

Um, disagree.
Somerset's talent is way down (aside from Michael Flyte, who's got D-1 potential in my book) compared to previous years but they've got a lot of kids who are great competitors, well schooled, with high baseball IQs. Claysburg is more raw, more athletic and all about guts and intensity.
Should be a great game. I'm assuming Claysburg will throw Baird and I'll take them on their home field.

Somerset wins 5 to 2 and I completely agree with you on Flyte. Him Drew hemminger and helsley have been carrying that team all year long.

I decided to drive up to claysburg to watch this game, and i must say it was well worth it. Both teams threw their aces, somerset throwing stiffler and claysburg threw baird. Somerset takes game 2 with a final score of 4-2. Somerset played great defense through out the whole game (I think only one error on a bad hop at Claysburg beautiful infield). Baird for Claysburg seemed to me to be quite the hothead, yelling at Somerset players and whining over balls and strikes, he also threw at 2 different players, one as a kid called time and Baird threw at his head. As it is showing now Somerset is becoming the team to beat.
