Re: SOUTHERN and FORBES ROAD CO-OP
So we're looking at something like:Husker33 wrote:This is the last year for the true North/South Divisions. After that the coaches/ADs voted in football to go to a large school/small school alignment. Many of the traditional rivalries will continue.
On the merger note, CR is in very serious financial trouble are they going to merge with Bedford then? Ya right. There is a much better chance of all bedford county schools joining together like in armstrong county to create a big school district with many high schools in it.
Mount Union 197
Everett 183
Bellwood-Antis 163
West Branch 155
Northern Bedford 149
Southern Huntingdon 142 (+ coop)
Tussey Mountain 145
Claysburg-Kimmel 111
Juniata Valley 111
Glendale 106
Moshannon Valley 97
Williamsburg 72
Re: SOUTHERN and FORBES ROAD CO-OP
Yeah there will be a big school and small school division and I believe to make it work CK and Williamsburg will play each other twice. The divisions can change based on enrollment every 2 years.
NBC is moving ahead with a 16 million dollar building project. Tussey just had one. The two schools are not in plans to merge.

Re: SOUTHERN and FORBES ROAD CO-OP
dad2sons, I love that you completely fit the sterotype of an NB fan/alum/parent/student. The minute anyone says anything about Northern Bedford, people flip out. Calm down buddy. "Keep your fabrications to yourself." Get real guy, not everyone agrees with you.
Why is everyone in Loysburg so adamantly against consolidating with Tussey? I wish someone would explain their objections to this merger.
The argument that recent renovations will somehow slow down consolidation is a bad one. Regardless of the costs already incurred by the two districts, the reality remains that consolidation is becoming increasingly necessary. In order to make school districts more efficient, the state is beginning to offer financial aid to build schools to consolidate smaller districts. This is exactly the type of provision that is going to encompass NB and TM, with the funds for a new school building coming from Harrisburg.

Re: SOUTHERN and FORBES ROAD CO-OP
u yung unz don't recall but below-the-gap {Smith} wants wuz consolate with Tusey Mtn.
Let me giv yuz a histerectomy lesion. in da fiftees, Smith wuz part of tusey for a cuple yeerz. then some smatazz high falootin county whippersnapper supernintendo figerd he din't want skoal distracts crossin county lines and above-the-gap {Woodbury and Replogle} was fixin to consolate with Marteensberg and Roaring sprang to make some bible thumpin' cove-ite school but the county supernintendo woodn't permiss it.
it'z da way it probbly showld be thow. A consolate wouldn't faze the below-the-gappers but until a passable road over the mtn. from above the gap to Saxton, avoyding the Rt. 26 trek throw hopwell is built the people in the north won't permit it.
It look s like a good mergur on a map but reelistikally its a transpertashun problem from end to end. Evert or sprung Kove would be better options for the above-gappers who dominate the skoal boord.

Re: SOUTHERN and FORBES ROAD CO-OP
It's a shame we didn't have an extra week so that we could all play each other like the other area conferences do. I'd love to start playing games against CK and Mo Valley again and start playing Glendale.Coach wrote:Yeah there will be a big school and small school division and I believe to make it work CK and Williamsburg will play each other twice. Re: SOUTHERN and FORBES ROAD CO-OP
First of all Dragon I am not from NBC. I have no problem with either of the Tiyans and Panthers. I am a Bedford County sports fan and I am knowledgeable of both school districts which you are obviously NOT being from BLAIR COUNTY. When Coach says it ain't happening I have a tendebcy to belive someone who again lives in BRDFORD COUNTY and teaches at NBC over some idiotic BLAIR COUNTY guy that has nothing better to do the run his mouth about a topic which he has no knowledge of. That is my point!! Stick to what you know about. Like trying to beat Tyrone on the gridiron which you have accomplished. I have seen at least 3 of the last 4 meetings and they have been very entertaining. Your posts on this topic are not. They are a JOKE!!

Sorry my typing is sloppy because of my irritation over Dragon's posts!!

Re: SOUTHERN and FORBES ROAD CO-OP
dad2sons, you've got me again. I completely forgot about the walls that have been built keeping those of us in BLAIR county out of the esteemed BEDFORD county. We also are unable to pass information between the two counties. I am actually very excited about the creation of Pinchot Road High School so that Central has another solid AA program to compete with. Also, it will be fun to see PR destroy Bedford annually, with or without their Hyndman additions.
Re: SOUTHERN and FORBES ROAD CO-OP
You need to get a life!! Worry about things you know about not your fabrications. Just in closing give me one fact or source that gives you any credibility in what you are saying about TM and NBC. Give me something to let us know you have any idea of hat you are talking about.

dragonfootball2001 wrote:Forbes Road and Tussey Mountain would have been a nice fit, but with TM now planning to consolidate with Northern Bedford, Forbes Road was left out.
An all Fulton county team would probably be the best fit for athletes in Fulton County, but with a lack of football history, the players at Forbes Road have a much better chance to develop as part of the Southern Huntingdon program.
I still can't believe a whole county does not play football. I thought I read an article a while back that the county does/had started a youth program a few years back. Maybe this is the genesis of a high school football program. Who's school would be most plausible for them to play under?
