HA, S Cube, it should have been. I'm not sure why you guys in Loysburg keep blocking the merger.

I still don't believe NB is out of the woods on a 6-3 season, that was my point early on, and I still feel that way. There is a lot of football to be played, and undoubtedly, NB, regardless of their schedule the rest of the way, will struggle in the playoffs.

It's humorous to me to listen to everyone talk poorly of D5 football, and the district in general, but then tout their team as competitive when they squeak out wins on a cupcake schedule. The only remotely competitive team NB has played this season is Mo Valley...and they LOST. Everett, Williamsburg, Claysburg? Come on. Glendale doesn't prove anything either, as they've played the same poor schedule as NB, and also lost to MV. As for "Mo Valley got two good plays," Thats fine, but the Panthers had 48 mintues of playing time to work out just THREE good plays, and they couldn't do it. The fact remains, you lost to the best team on your schedule, and they're not even that good.

The facts are the facts. NB is 4-1 vs a VERY weak A schedule. A 27-19 win over Claysburg and a loss to MV does not support the confidence coming out of Loysburg. Will the Panthers win tonight? Probably, but if it wasn't for contrarians like myself, this board would only be Woodbury and Loysburg patting each other on the back. I will say one thing, just like all of your crying at the refs during football games and wrestling matches, the Panther faithful go on the attack when someone disagrees with them.

Best of luck tonight Panthers, the Titans are coming.

normally i would agree cube but last weeks deluge was the equalizer. township should have won but could not pass nor tackle with all the rain. a good muddy game shows the weakness's of any team and last week showed townships. i would expect a much better game tonight with the nice weather but the longer into the season the more chance of bad weather. tonight should be a good night for passing teams

From a post Sept. 22- made by dragonfootball2001 in response to my Top 10 District 5/6 A football rankings.

I was looking at my rankings today from that week to see how they are standing up now and came across this post and with the posts in the thread right now I figured I'd post this. As for Kevin Steele, he is a very good coach and I think Bedford is seeing the rewards of having him around earlier than they probably thought they would. The Bison are a few plays from being 5-0. I wonder if they can knock off Johnstown tonight???
dragonfootball2001 wrote:West Branch shouldn't have an HM without Glendale. The Vikings had a slow start vs Everett, and lost to a very good Northern Bedford team, but they showed their ability by destroying West Branch last week.

Also, I think Northern Bedford is a bit underrated here. The Panthers loss to Moshannon Valley probably wouldn't happen later in the season, and they've looked very solid in their wins over Glendale and Everett. It seems the coaching and tradition are really coming through in Loysburg, as the Panthers have been doing the little things that are needed to win very well.

1) Bishop McCort
2) Bellwood-Antis
3) North Star
4) Juniata Valley
5) Northern Bedford
6) Windber
7) Conemaugh Township
8) Moshannon Valley
9) Portage
10) Glendale

Blairsville, Penns Manor, Marion Center, Mount Union

NBC should be below Windber and Township. NBC has played a very weak schedule.

Gimme the Hornets, Trojans, Blue Devils, Rockets, Panthers, and Warriors (of West Branch) this week.

West Branch/Claysburg should be the most interesting game this week. The loser is basically out of the playoff hunt, while the winner most likely can sneak in with a lower seed. Obviously Claysburg would have to beat Everett to do so, but I think I'd probably take the 'Dawgs in that matchup.
