I just read where coach Paterno, through the order of school President, had his press conference cancelled for today. I am not a big Penn State fan but you have to admire how clean of a program coach Paterno has run and what he has accomplished there.

OG, you have it all wrong. This isn't about my hate or anyone else's hate for the PSU football program. Given this scandal, do you disagree with my opinion that football should be deemphasized at PSU?

This is about children who were quite probably exploited (don't forget there was an eyewitness) and about how this exploitation was ignored because the football program, the coach, and the administration placed the welfare of the program and their egos above the welfare of children.

Exhibit #1 as proof of the PSU football cult...Are you kidding me??? This video is nauseating.
The poor man can barely talk and appears to be slobbering....and morally bankrupt.

Titan can you believe that guy has coached his team to a better record than Todd Graham???

Sorry just had to get one more rip in while Penn State still has a football team!

Just out of curiosity, how do you propose Penn State 'de-emphasize' football?

Blow up Beaver Stadium?

Throw tarps over the seats and don't sell them?

Make people not care?

Drop all the other sports so that football doesn't have to support anything?

I agree with everything you're saying about the people who are involved, but to 'de-emphasize' football would be impossible. And to be quite honest with you, you're an idiot for even saying that. They're gonna clean house. There will be a new regime. JoePa will be gone. The football program will go on and may be even stronger after this.

Maybe then you'll shut up about Penn State football.

Probably not.

Well said hammy. I gave up trying to understand any of WPIAL's logic years ago and havent read one of this post in a long time but I did catch him speaking of deemphazing the program. I just don't waste my time posting rebuttals WPIAL.

Spoken like true Kool Aid drinkers! If you have to ask about deemphasizing football, then you really don't get it. Chidren were likely abused because football, Paterno, and a circle of arrogance found their image and the PSU brand name to be more important than the safety and welfare of children.

Show me how this has anything to do with the football program and I'll believe you. Show me how Paterno didn't report it and then have a follow up after he caught wind of the situation. He didn't witness it first hand. He wasn't the one that walked in on the act.

I don't know how you can hate something that much for that long, like you have with Penn State and Joe Paterno. It's simply dumbfounding.

This will be the last I talk to you about this. I'm disgusted by what happened over the past 20 years up there. I'm sickened and saddened for the families of this terrible terrible disaster. I want everybody to face justice that is associated with this who did nothing in the face of the evidence to the acts. I hope that everybody that witnessed/participated spends a whole lot of time in jail with the worst cell mates imaginable.

For once, just once, shut the F up. We've heard your points. You hate Joe. He's going down. You hate Penn State football. It will be around well after this scandal. Today, you won. Today you can celebrate your 'right-ness' at the cost of innocent children's innocence. Congratulations, Titan. You won. Go celebrate like the delinquent that you are.

Defending a man who preaches Success with Honor and toughness and then does the legally right thing, but the morally and ethically cowardly thing is weak, but I would expect to hear these excuses and defenses of the cult leader from a PSU cult member.

There is no celebration here, on my part, only sadness. Paterno, on the other hand, was leading football chants on his front lawn tonight. I can't help but wonder what the victims who may have seen that video must be thinking.

Good night.
