Johnstown Haters? Do you mean 1) people from Johnstown who hate those from other schools, or 2) those who hate people who go to Johnstown???

Johnstown is just a big fish in a little pond. Won't make it past round 2. when they meet a wpial team.

The only way Johnstown would play a WPIAL team would be in the state championship game. If you are going to criticize at least have your facts straight.

Richland folk normally don't.

....In response to the first post under this topic. The following are Provisions of the PIAA Constitution & By-laws Pertaining to Sporstmanship.
....Code of Ethics Pertaining to High School Athletics
....Section 2. Student-Athletes should
....A. Conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner
....B. Not use profane or obscene language
....C. NOT SEEK TO PROVOKE OPPONENTS, CONTEST OFFICIALS, OR SPECTATORS TO ENGAGE IN IMPROPER CONDUCT
....D. Not seek to injure opponents
....You see, if the Johnstown players would have "walked away" when the endzone fiasco had started, it would not have ended in police involvement. However, the Trojan players DID provoke endsone spectators by their actions, especially pointing to the scoreboard with a big lead, etc etc. This was readily admitted to by Johnstown's QB who said they knew by doing this that they would make the spectators "more mad". By doing this, no matter WHAT the spectators were doing, the Trojans DID violate Section 2C of the PIAA Code of Ethics Pertaining to high school athletics, the provoking of spectators. The Johnstown players were MORE at fault for what happened, because of their retaliation to the spectators actions. Things ESCALATED when the players got involved. You saw the result. Penna and his players should apologize for their actions, and Penna should reprimand his players in some fashion for their involvement.

They did not provoke the spectators to engage in improper conduct. The spectators were already engaging in it! Anything they did after the fact cannot be considered provoking. Provoking means to do something to incite the behavior to begin. You would be the type to blame the victim in a rape case, too, wouldn't you..she asked for it because of how she was dressed, etc.

Yes, there was a fire. But the Trojans thru gas on it. Like GS said, he knew what they were doing would make the spectators "more mad". That isn't provoking???? If spectators yell at you, or call you names, YOU DON'T RETALIATE. This isn't tit for tat. You just keep playing and don't get involved. Yes, the Trojans provoked the crowd ONCE things started. They didn't strike first, but caused it to escalate. Turn the other cheek and play ball. You see what retaliation gets you.

The Johnstown players never do anything wrong. They are angels on the field according to you guys. I've said it before, IF racial things were said, it's a shame and it never should happen. But I've also been to my share of Johnstown games over the past two decades in games not only against FH but many others, and they are easily have had the least sportsmanship of any school (coaches included). I've seen more taunting, show-boating, gesturing, late hits, etc. from Johnstown players, coaches, and fans than every other lhac school combined over this period (granted I don't see Westmont, Bedford, Guilfoyle a lot). Some teams have had their runs of bad apples (CC from 2005-2009 comes to mind), but Johnstown has by far had the worst sportsmanship as a team. Even this year, when Johnstown lost to CC it was "field conditions" and not CC's play that did it. If Johnstown is winning we have to hear how every kid on the team is going D1, and if they lose and someone comments they are a "hater" for speaking what they feel. If we are going to open the book on racism, it's a two way street. If you think the word "Cracker" has never been said in an FH/Johnstown game before you are simply ignorant. I know it's not the same, and I'm not comparing what happened at the past game to that, but this is hardly a one sided deal. Oh, by the way, isn't stereotyping everyone from FH as a "redneck" from a "podunk town" a little bit offensive? FH is one of the biggest school districts in area around, I'm pretty sure not every student or family is a redneck from a podunk town. As for the game, I make no excuses for FH losing for the 2nd season in a row. They lost to a better team. FH played a terrible first half and the 4th and long touchdown killed them. Johnstown played a terrible second half and the 4th and long killed them. Both #5's from both teams were far-and-away the best players on the field. The refs had NO bearing on FH's comeback, and I didn't even see one controversial call. The difference came on Williams' pick 6, which is what you come to expect of a kid his caliber.
To the Johnstown players: Goodluck to Johnstown the rest of the way, hopefully FH prepared you for the playoffs and vice versa. As for the racist comments, I am ashamed as an FH alumn if what was said on this board happened, and I feel obligated to appologize on their behalf. Unfortunately in the world we live in, this likely won't be the last time you hear some ignorant or racist comment. I encourage you to think about the consequences of your response should you run in to this in the real world. Some people, especially someone who would say racial things to another person, do not even deserve a response or reaction. Best of luck

I stand corrected, Jack Daniel. I posted without looking at the AAA bracket. Richland Folk can admit when they are wrong. Unlike most Crushers i've met. My comment wasn't to criticize Jtown, only to point out that compared to other AAA schools in the state their not elite.
