That is a LONG road to climb before the UFC picks you up and 'pays the bills'. A new fighters first few fights are for pennies--most pay $400/$400, and you SLOWLY work your way up from there. Even your first few fights in the UFC are around $2k/$2k, and you hope for bonuses to make more money (fight of the night, best knockout, etc).

MMA is a rough sport, and even though wrestlers are the best prepared, things don't always work out for 'big' money.

It's a good thought but rizzo doesn't strike me as the type of person who has the mental mindset of a UFC fighter.

Add Dailey from Fort Lebouf to that list. I thought for sure he would go at 285 and be a favorite for gold there. This makes 220 that much more interesting!
