Whatever. Call a spade a spade. Excuse the expression. Don't wish to have that construed as racist.

hahahah and yet with all 4 of them they can't get by one playoff game against a Clearfield who wasn't close to as strong as recent years

If anything that is an indictment on the coaches not the players. Imagine if they had some above average football coaches there. (I'm sure this will be deleted...everytime I say anything remotely critical of a coach it gets erased.)

And based on last year's game, Salem knew to get out when the getting was good.

More excuses as to how Salem could have possibly finished with a winning record vs the man who created football, Don Bo.

No you're right, sports. i constantly hear how they have turned the program around down there and I no doubt agree with that. Tony and his staff are great with the kids and obviously a lot of kids down there have hard lives and nothing is more important than a coach willing to be there for his players no matter what. But when it comes down to it it's also about winning a playoff game with the Xs and Os. Not just strategy though there needs to be some mental toughness or a focus in crunch time…that obviously hurt the trojans big time.

I didn't realize that we needed to break down the D1 info.... And Alex Merriman is a kid who sat in the background last year behind Calvin Anderson and when he got his chance this year he delivered for the trojans.also he Is going on an academic scholarship to play for a D1 school. He is a real smart kid, in the top of his class.. I just think its a shame that people over look the good things these kids have accomplished.. I didn't see any other schools in the area put out 4 players to a division1 school. And yes many of the kids at jhs do have rough home lives but not all do..

Please excuse my last post. I should have said "based on the LAST TWO BM/FH games, Salem knew to get out when the getting was good".

Are any colleges looking at that Dwight Andrews kid or is he considered too skinny to play major college football?

The Merriman kid impressed me in an interview I saw recently. Very humble kid, very well spoken, knows how important academics are etc etc etc. If I were a head coach in college that is the kind of kid I want playing for me. Speaking of playing, watching film on him he's a worker..he's busts his butt. Congrats, kid.

Corky, as far as Andrews.. very, very rarely will a college not want a kid who has Andrew's height, ball skills and general ability. If the coaches like his character and grades the college strength coaches will put some meat on his bones to get him ready to play at the next level

....On Feb 13, 2012, the Patriot League (of which Lafayette is a member) announced they would begin offering football scholarships. Starting WITH THE 2013 ACADEMIC YEAR, each school will be allowed NO MORE than the equivalent of 15 scholarships to incoming football players per year. The total number of scholarships cannot exceed 60 per team in a season.
....For this upcoming 2012 season, Lafayette will welcome over 30 new recruits as true freshman. Up to now, NO football scholarships are available. Financial aid, however, is available to football players as it is for regular students.
