i agree with most of odoyelrules minus a few.

106: im picking howard over gabriel

113: swarrow is till tough 2x State placer. if he's on his game watch out.

120-138 are going to change. I think a lot of kids are dropping. still think these weights are the toughest

145: cahill vs bowman should be a good matchup. im picking bowman though. love the tri-valley kids.

152: another great matchup Schoffstall vs Doak. im picking Schoffstall. The kid is jacked.

182: Dibert vs. Conti have totally opposite styles, should be a good one.

I'm betting Dibert is at 170.

With the additions of South Fayette and Meyersdale, should be a great tourney.

The Thomas tournament is one of the toughest strictly AA tournaments in PA. A lot of the kids you see this weekend will be at Hershey in march.

Weather is forecasted 4 to 8 inches for Friday. If schools cancel or delay, will the Tournament still go on?

Concerning weather I believe the Thomas Tournament will plug on. Remember we are talking about wrestlers and their families. They will take a snowmobile to the tournament if necessary. LOL I have heard rumor that dog sleds are being arranged for transportation.

Odoyl that was a great preview and I am sure 95% of your placements will be very close. There are always a few who seem to step up and catch everyone by surprise.

Hey I need to make a confession - all that preview was done by BedfordFan, not by me.

Also he added this regarding the team race:

While I was looking over teams to see who I have predicted to place the most wrestlers and looking at overall rosters to see the most complete teams, I realized that there are four teams with a real shot at winning, and three more teams with a chance to contend if they wrestle really well. I have Bedford placing 10 wrestlers, Ridge with 9, and South Fayette, Jefferson Morgan, and West Branch with 7. I believe Ridge and West Branch have the most complete rosters. I have Bedford and South Fayette with 3 champions each. This tournament is completely up for grabs and I expect to be tight until the end. My top 5 are:
1. Chestnut Ridge
2. Bedford
3. West Branch
4. South Fayette
5. Tri Valley
HM- Jefferson Morgan
-Blairsville- *If either of their 2 quality wrestlers that are injured can go, I would put them in the top 5.
-Berlin
Analysis: I eventually chose Ridge because of depth. They should have all but 1 or 2 wrestlers advancing to the second day of the tournament, but if they don’t then they could be overtaken quickly. Bedford and South Fayette are similar in that they are both more top heavy with many higher quality wrestlers, but have a few weak weights. The reason why I placed Bedford higher is because I have them predicted to have 3 more place winners than South Fayette. I truly believe any of the top four I have listed can come away with the team title, and if Berlin wrestles really well they have the depth to do it as well.
