Snider knows how to hit with guys on too. twice with RISP he went with the pitch and hit to the opposite side, the result was big RBI's both times. He doesn't have to hit .333, (it would be great though) but good at bats and timely hits is what the doctor ordered. Although Tabata had an rbi yesterday, we all know in the above scenarios with Snider, Tabata would've either struck out trying for the bomb, or roll the outside pitch over, trying to pull it and wound up with a doubleplay, he's done it 200 times the last few years. Tabata is the Bucs' Bortuzzo, haha

I don't think the word putrid would even give justice to how bad Alvarez is hitting right now. And they just optioned Josh Harrison to AAA.

Alvarez put together a few decent AB's yesterday, hopefully one of his big breakouts is near. Just in time for St. Louis? Let's hope!

Pedro did piece some good AB's together, and hit a sharp grounder, but Votto was hugging the line and made a nice play, otherwise he would have had an RBI single.

He will come around, he's too good to hit like this much longer.

Just saw tonights' lineup. Now I understand coaches like to platoon a righty and a lefty vs appropriate matchups... but Westbrook is on the bump for the Cards and Hurdle is starting Tabata in right instead of Snider!?! WTH

Gotta really like the results from the recent home stand. 7-2 against three of the better teams in the National League.

Unfortunately the schedule doesn't get any easier. Next up a 10 game road. Have to think it would be considered a successful trip if they get through the next 10 at no worse than 4-6.

With Karstens, Morton, and Luriano soon ready to add some help to the rotation, this team's chances of staying competitive looks good.

OK I know they are only 1/6 of the way through; but I officially have the cool-aid dripping from my chin. If they manage to not get swept in Milwaukee, I'll be all in. The scary thing is Liraino, Morton, Cole and Karstens havent even taken the mound yet... they should be in good shape when the dog days roll in.

I'm with you Eagle. They are winning without getting a big contribution from Cutch. When he gets hot, How much better will they be? Martin, Tabata, Snider, Jones, and others all are contributing offensively. The pitching has been outstanding, with the exception of Sanchez. They are already 5-2 on a tough road trip. One win in Milwaukee, will make it a VERY successful trip and then get back home and do some real damage. Go Bucs!!
