What started their run was a committed group of kids that worked in the off-season. Forest Hills couldn’t stop Central’s running game that game. Tyrone needed to take care of their own business . Central went deep into the playoffs that year and their program has sustained that momentum and built on it.
Could make a solid argument that they were a two point conversion away from being state champs...only team to give Wilmington a run for their money....runk was just getting started right before that cheap shot

I'm not going to argue the cheap shot, but they were far from the only team to give Wilmington a run for their money:
AA First Round: Wilmington 21 - Slippery Rock 14 in OT
AA Quarterfinals: Wilmington 21 - Central 19
AA Semi-Finals: Wilmington 29 - Aliquippa 28 in OT
AA Final: Wilmington 35 - West Catholic 34 in double-OT
The Central game was the only game that Wilmington played in the state playoffs that did not go to at least overtime.
It's too bad the Central game was at Slippery Rock. If available, that game should almost always be played at IUP.

Those 2 sites are usually alternated. A couple years ago, we played Wilmington at IUP. Before that, we played Sharon at the Rock.

You can also go to MSA sports and listen to the Saturday morning coaches corner broadcast. Roger Bietle explained the situation there also. My sons Basketball team is wishing him luck and hoping he doesn't play. LOL

Yeah, I get the alternating sites to ensure a decent gate, but I still think playing at IUP is ideal for the D6/D10 matchup in AA since it is centrally located. if the other game is always at the rock, why isn't the other at Mansion Park or DeGol Field? Seems like an unfair advantage for D10 to me.

I think Tyrone played Hickory at Mansion Park two years ago when D6 hosted.

Tyrone never played at IUP or the Rock... Played Wilmington twice at mansion park and once at Sharon.. Played Sharon at Mansion Park and at Farrell HS.. Played slippery rock at mansion park. And grove city at state college, and hickory at mansion park

I think the D10 home site is typically Slippery Rock and D6's is Mansion Park. Not sure where IUP falls into the spectrum. It's rarely used. And I don't see Sait Francis ever being a factor. Tough place to get to.

It's my guess, that the AD's are given a couple options for the given district, then it is to be agreed upon by the other AD? FH has also played recently at Hempfield HS. Some years past, we played Wash Hi @ Mt. Lebo, and Aliquippa @ Seneca Val., Brookville @ Punxsy, Brockway @ Dubois.
