I work with some BG parents and they said that Homer Center has a sign at their school hanging up saying "One Catholic School Down. One to Go". That's the rumor I heard and I know they are pretty P.O.'d about it lol and using it as "motivation" they are saying hahaha

I'm not a big fan of any of the Bishop's so I hope HC runs it down BG's throats

I live near 2 HC teachers....that sign is not up, and never was up....it is completely made-up, and how would they even know--do they work in Homer City?

it must be a way for BG to drum up some motivation since there isn't a rivalry here....

Hahaha! That's creative, maybe I'll print T-shirts with slogan on it. And maybe I'll get the cheerleaders to write that on our banner. Straight bible thumpers.

Who know's these BG people I work with have this image of themselves as the Oregon Ducks of D6-A and greatest Class A team ever. I'm not saying BG isn't good but this guy I work with was talking about how BG is better than Richland and if they would play now BG would beat them by 2 TDs and BG is the most disciplined football team around because they are a private school and they are the fastest team in the state and I just stood their looking at him thinking to myself..."I get the fact you are proud of your team buddy but come back down to reality hahaha"

I am happy for both teams making it to districts for the first time in a LOOOOOOOOONG time and I know BG are the favorites, but I can't make myself cheer for a catholic/private school. There's no "community" pride in a private school like there is in a small town public school. I'm not knocking the privates in anyway but it's just not the same. Small towns like Bellwood, Tyrone, Portage, etc. are ghost towns when their teams are playing on a Friday night. You could rob every store intown because EVERYONES at the game. It's just not like that with a private school. So I am cheering for Homer Center, and I even told him that. I said nothing against BG but I have to cheer for HC because they are a small town PUBLIC school community. And there's a certain sense of pride in that.

I don't know if BG fans know this but they were outgained by Penns manor. And some fans I know from BG were 100% relieved to get out of Kenwood with a win because they felt if the comets didn't turn ball over BG would be sitting home right now

That's what I heard as well. This guy basically tried telling me the reason the Catholics are so good every year and they have more discipline and respect than the public schools and this translates over into football...And that's the main reason Bishop Carroll came back against Bellwood-Antis from being down 0-19 is because of discipline and respect (I'm not making this up haha) And I stood there and said... "So it had nothing to do with BA fumbling the kickoff, losing the momentum, or just getting beat upfront in the trenches???" And he basically told me no its the fact that Catholic Schools are superior because of their discipline... HAHAHA there was no arguing with him, I just kind of walked away shaking my head and smiling... :))
