two things. first is that i somewhat doubt that jake is in better condition than every college wrestler......i have seen many "unbeatable" high schoolers do nothing more than mediocre at college to believe that one.
second is that garret is definately beatable, anybody can get caught at any time, and even the most prepared wrestlers can buy into themselves too much. jsut look at dan gable. i dontthink that garret is anywhere near that level of talent, and gable lost! 99 times out of 100 he would have crushed the guy he lost to, but those 99 times were not the result of that match. now dont get me wrong, garret is phenominal. but he is not perfect.

who does Garrett practice with everyday of the week? His cousin brock who has placed twice at states. Those two are both just making each other better. If Garrett and Brock had more of a team around them than just themselves then they would be able to go to the higher quality tournaments and get the competition that Jake does. But lets not forget here that as an 8th grader Garrett was the national freestyle champ and in that process he beat Coleman Scott who is going to Oklahoma State to wrestle. To say Garrett is very beatable is absurd along with the statement that he doesn't wrestle the competition

I agree with you packerfan. Garret may not be perfect because anyone can get caught. But I just don't see it happening. He's going to win states 4 times and everyone knows it. Everyone talks about Strayer being so dominating. He didn't look dominating at The District Duals. Yes he may have been wrestling two weight classes above his normal weight and wrestling good guys on top of that. But if people are going around saying he dominates he would of pounded those kids getting pins not wining by points. Dominating Wrestlers go back to the Tipton days when he always bumped up to wrestle hwt's and pounded on them. If it were to happen wich it won't Garret would pin Strayer this year because strayer has been looking sloppy he gets caught trying to do moves and if the kids were Scott's talent they would of pinned Strayer.

just let me go on the record that i never said that garrett is "very beatable" as ive been accused of saying. all i said is that everyone can lose. you guys are acting like i have somehting against the kid, which i can tell you i definately dont. its not everyday that you get to see someone with his talent. so sit back, relax, and chill out

I just talked to Jake Strayer and he told me he is going to wrestle 160 or 171 at Districts!!! No, but seriously guys: These posts as of late are getting pathetic. All we do (myself included) is talk about wrestlers all day and night, bickering and arguing the whole time. Let's just let them wrestle and enjoy it for what it's worth. I have no personal vendetta against the Scott boys or anybody else for that matter. I simply voice my opinion on alot of matters--take it for what it's worth. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Brock Scott will not beat Jake Strayer. I would like to think that Jake has a decent shot at being a State Champion, as does Garrett (personally I hope they both win Gold). It really doesn't matter what we say on here at all. For the record, Jake has improved since his freshman year, but I would also agree with swat in that the improvement does not seem as much as others. The fact that kids have somewhat figured Jake out might be true to an extent. Until somebody proves otherwise, Jake Strayer is the best 125 pounder in Pennsylvania's AA class--my opinion. I never said (and don't believe) that Jake is the best wrestler ever. He isn't even the best wrestler from District 6, but you can't deny that he is good and deserves all the success he gets. Aside from the Strittmatter boys, I haven't seen anybody work that hard in my life and, even more importantly, he is as humble as they come. He is the Barry Sanders of wrestling.

Didn't they wrestle twice last year with Strayer winning both meetings? Or was that the other Scott?
