Na they only got him listed as 6'1 and I bet come combine he's only 5'11 1/2 6'
Re: Draft outlook for steelers
If we are talkin wr for the steelers they need a guy to go up and get the ball, 6'3-6'5 Watkins doesn't fit in that category, he will be a slot receiver in the nfl we already got 2 of those
Re: Draft outlook for steelers
How is he going to lose two inches? I'm going to have to disagree with that statement. I don't think ruling him out is a bad idea, if he is available, he won't be, the steelers will take him. But I think Evans or lee would've a better fit. Evans because of his size or lee because of his quickness, Watkins is kind of in the middle. I think drafting him would put him at the slot and sanders would most likely move online said earlier. Do I think they will draft a WR in the first round, no. An OL is too tantalizing, especially after the recent weeks.PApride wrote:Aoki12 wrote:He's 6'2 pride? How tall do you want your recievers to be? Fitzgerald is 6'3? I hate autocorrect, haha I didn't mean to put online.
Re: Draft outlook for steelers
Haha a lot of guys lose an inch or so when getting correctly measured at the combine, in HS and college weight and height are always inflated some, I'd be willing to put money on it that Sammy is 6 ft at best, we will find out in April though
Re: Draft outlook for steelers
Steelers first couple of picks should be on the defensive side of the ball, or they will be giving up 30+ every week next yr
Re: Draft outlook for steelers
That is a very bold prediction, for a defense that has a large amount of key players out they aren't giving up 30+ points up every week, they will have those same guys plus some of those key players back and you are saying that? I agree that they might need a linebacker or a NT to add some depth but I wouldn't go as saying 30+ points. Ben is running for his life to throw to what would be a number two guy at best in most teams in the NFL ( no offense to brown, like I said earlier he is a great player, one of my favorite, just not a consistent WR). I would say their first avenue to go down should be OL or WR.

Re: Draft outlook for steelers
There are more OL injuries then defensive injuries
Re: Draft outlook for steelers
Right konjo, and next year those same players on defense will b a ur older, and giving up to 34 to the fins today didn't look good at all (most they scored all year)
Poor Ike has been getting burned all year, Troy can't make a tackle all of a sudden (Charles Clay is happy about that), and Middle LB is a must
I think lately a plus for the steelers has been the offense
