I don't think this one will be about speed. In case you wonder power also wins football games. Look for a ball control game to be played by Bellwood.

Mount union has a very good offense as displayed so far. And all the hype of their speed is also known. But their defense has been really good to from what I've seen. I don't think Bellwood can post enough points to come away with the win. I'm going mount union over Bellwood 41-21

Re: Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
I think this going to be a great game..I have been able to watch both teams play this year...
Bellwood: We all know Hayes is going to have a good game plan against any team in the area. I look for Bellwood to have a lot of rushing yards.(Anybody at the Mo Valley - MU game saw MV move the ball down the field running)
Bellwood has about 4 running backs that all look the same running the ball ..
Mount Union: Another very well coached team, makes great adjustments as the game gos on...The passing game is deadly. The best arm I have seen this year and his receivers are fast enough to get behind the defenders and make the big plays..
Prediction: Bellwood wins with controlling the clock and minimizing the big plays..

Moshannon Valley had 102 yards rushing, with a good chunk coming in the final two drives against the JV team for MU. I wouldn't exactly call that moving the ball down the field.

Re: Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
I still think Bellwood-Antis will win this game with ball control and game management. It will be close but I just think BA is A LOT better than what people give them credit for. Tyrone is the #1 ranked team in D6-AA and are rightfully so but just remember BA had them on the ropes and drove down to the Tyrone 7 yard line on the last play of the game and very easily could of won that game!!! BA may be young this year but they are a program that knows how to win and are used to big game atmospheres. Yes MU is very fast and talented but I just think this one comes down to a classic example of "who has been here before" and the "stage being to big". Bellwood-Antis is not Juniata Valley, Moshannon Valley, or Southern Huntingdon. Win or Lose MU is in for a dog fight...

There you go again. What have you been smoking?
Mt. Union is for real. Walker can throw that pigskin 60 yards in the air. B-A's secondary will be
overwhelmed with the offense the Trojans present. These kids know they can beat Bellwood.
B-A was lucky to escape last year and they had some tough boys with speed last year.
This Trojan team when in Junior High pounded Bellwood. Which really doesn't mean anything now.
You keep bringing up the Tyrone game. That doesn't prove anything either. Quite possibly if and
when Tyrone and Mt. Union meet the Trojans just may win that game on speed also. And Tyrone
has been on the BIG STAGE. By the way what is the BIG STAGE? Besides close victories over
Bellwood and Central who has Tyrone beaten so far?
Lets just let this play out. Let the games begin and I'll put my dollar on Mt Union.
It's a new season, new players, etc., Mt Union is just better this year.
Don't bet the ranch on Bellwood this year. You'll be sleeping in the car.

Re: Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
I'm interested in this game also. Bellwood is a program that deserves the respect it commands. Mount Union is going to have to prove that it can win a tightly contested game against a quality opponent. I think Bellwood will effectively neutralize Mount Union's athletes and win the game. Last time I was surprised Bellwood lost was when Penns Manor beat them a couple years back. On that day, they could not overcome the BM win hangover and a great athlete in Danny Ferens. If one of the MU kids is on that level, then maybe they can pull it off.

Both teams have beaten the teams on the schedule to answer you both.

Re: Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
I'm sorry but I feel like I am missing something here. Central is still the defending D6AA Champion, and a heck of a team. BA is Bellwood, and as for a big stage, apparently you have never attended the Backyard Brawl, or the Tyrone v Central games of late. Playoff atmosphere from Monday until the final whistle on Friday. Central's fireworks, smoke machine and inflatable helmet really set the mood for an intense game.grasshopper wrote:Besides close victories over
