Pine Richland vs State College - Game Thread

Closer that I thought. People forget State College is one of the few D6 teams to make it to a state final. A good program that played a fairly tough schedule this year. I hope next year is their year. Incidently, I cn;t remember a year when D5 and D6 were this competitive on a state level. Hopefully a sign of things to come and closing the gap on D7.

The 2009 year, McCort and State College made the state final. District Six has been playing very well in recent years.

Numbers: 511 yards of total offense. 29 points. 37 first downs against the #1 (or #2) team in the state. Our QB had 269 passing yards vs. the WPIAL leader who had 248 (or 227 depending on news stories). FYI, we only scored 7 on Central Dauphin who just lost to your next opponent.

The WPIAL's run ends here. MidPenn and District 3 are rising as the elite region of PIAA football. Going to be a fun ride in 2015!

Yeah, State College surprised a lot of people, but not everyone. A few people thought SC could hang with Pine Richland, and they obviously did for the better part of the game. The WPIAL AAAA is still really good football, I just don't think Pine Richland is one of the better ones through the years - that's all.

Correction--State College started the game with the first interception of a DiNucci pass by Jonathan Seighman. State College then drove easily about 40 yards in abt 4 plays before fumbling back to PR.

thanks for catching that, corrected it....and yes, state played tough. Too young though, they'll be there next year
