Crimson, the feeling I get in talking to people around the program is that they younger Chadbourn will be the QB next year. It comes down to the simple fact that he'll be the best athlete on the team and you want him to touch the ball every play. I'm sure they'll do some packages like they do with his brother where he will line up at slot or RB for specific plays because they like what the Trybus kid can do as well. The Yasalitis kid at RB/LB is a really good athlete (some will tell you almost as good as the Chadbourns) and Andrew Irwin also has a bright future as a RB. He has been getting more and more snaps at RB/DB as the year as progressed.

There will obviously be a dropoff with the amount of talented seniors they are losing but it won't be as much as some people think. The strength of the team will be in the OL/DL and their DBs should be pretty good again. They also have a TE (Luke Frederick) who has been seeing more time and who at 6'5" will be a big target in the passing game next year along with Sam Keating who is a starter this year at CB and has been thrown to on a few occasions this year.

You have a better feel for the rest of the conference than I do but I would think that Bedford and Somerset both should be very tough. I would also expect improvement from BM given how young they were this past season.

Eagle will there be another Hunter at QB next year?
I don't think this will be a question. He pushed the senior Hunter this year for the starting job, and with the tanks up front Tyrone will be in the hunt for another district title. I just can't see them handing the reins over to a freshman in Denver Light. However he did put up big numbers and showed good arm strength as an 8th grade kid playing 9th grade ball. His target will get a chance on Friday nights though, Putt and Mitchell both have great hands and speed.

They will still what they do with that line. Ground and Pound with great defense. There is always another 1500 yard back waiting in the wings.

Soellner or Albert will most likely via for the FB spot. There is also a rumor that Grassi may move to the backfield next year.

At half back there are several option, most likely will be Gary Weaver, a junior next season. When Hunter had cramps Saturday night they stuck him right in the game in a goal line situation and gave him the ball twice. That tells me he's probably our guy for next year.

After we're all done we'll just have to see who the scouts signed for next year. Lol

I must say many in the Cove thought this would be a down year for Central having graduated 18 starters from last years D6 champ team. Well the returning players didn't want to hear that. The 9-3 record and berth into the district semis was better than a lot of folks expected. Heck the 3 teams they lost to were all still playing this past weekend. Not to shabby. Now on to next year...

A total of 5 starters will graduate.

9 Sophs started at least once and were regulars every week. At one point 3 of 5 on the OL were Sophs. JV team lost 2 games vs BG & Clearfield teams which both finished undefeated. The 9th grade team lost 2 games and will provide a couple key contributors to Friday nights next season. With the outstanding soph class and the returning junior class many believe this is our year.

At QB junior Noah Benton will look to improve on 1400 yard, 18 TD/4 INT season. Benton's top 2 weapons on the outside JR Justin Helsel (11 TDs) and SO Alex Hoenstine (16 TDs) both return and will be joined by SO Chase Smith, SO Elijah Benton, JR TE JM Knepp and SO TE Kyle Dodson.

Hoenstine could be an outstanding tailback if needed but 2 very good FR RBs could contribute next season. Both Ian Deterline and Jared Smith are big, strong runners.

The OL returns 6 guys with starting experience. Sophs Brice Brumbaugh, Trevor Miller and Luke Thomas. JRs Luke Berkhimer, Mitchell Conrath and Andrew Claar.

On defense the Dragons will get back preseason all state honorable mention So. DE Cam Norris who missed the entire season with a back injury. So. Brumbaugh will continue to wreck havoc on the DL along with JR Blaize Mock and several of the others mentioned above. At LB JR 3 year starter Jordan Quarello is back along with JR Damon Langer.

In the secondary starters Hoenstine, Helsel, and Smith all return.

Varsity team could also receive contributions from several of this years freshman. Karstetter, Emerick, Mock, Deterline and J. Smith are just a few.

Needless to say the expectations will be high next year for the Dragons!
You play to win the game!!!
