100 Points
Re: 100 Points
Updike out for year with knee injury. Robinson was by far their best offensive threat.

The Gause kid played pretty hard and not surprised he had 10 blocks I thought I counted more. Kind of got distracted with the crowd and parents yelling at the coach. I believe one parent actually got thrown out for telling the coach to stop playing his kids.

Brutal. I feel terrible for his boys. Must be a tough situation for them. Still can't figure out why schools hire coaches with children already on the team. It's one thing if they coach has been there for years and finally the child is old enough to play, but this has to be tough on the family.CRUSHER92 wrote:Prophet,
You must have been seated close to me bc that crowd was brutal at times.

100 Points
Not to mention neither kid went to Johnstown until last year. Both kids deserve to play though, but some fans won't like it.
Re: 100 Points
Holy Cow, problems after game1. Like I said months ago this team will implode. This coach will play his kids and try to show case them like he a did while he coached them at OMOS. He held the OMOS teams back, yes they won but their superior talent overcome his coaching, that will not be the case at JHS. If I was BMHS I'd be recruiting my butt off and getting those kids to BMHS. rethinking you won't have to recruit, they will be knocking the door down to transfer. JHS when you lose kids to BMHS you have no one to blame but yourself.

Re: 100 Points
I think every good athlete from the Greater Johnstown School District in the past 10 years has been rumored to be going to McCort one way or another. Usually, if not always, the kid himself starts that rumor to draw attention to himself.
But I'm sure the problems are overblown especially after one game, I think Johnstown will be fine relatively speaking. I've been to some junior high games in recent years when these current varsity players were freshmen, these parents simply don't shut up the whole game. They have disrespected any coach that's been there. So in fairness to coach Price, or any coach at Johnstown recently, these parents have been very difficult to deal with.
I mean it's to the point where you have 5-6 different parents coaching from the stands, and not only are they trying to coach from the stands, their kids actually look up and listen to them and disregard what their coach says. I've witnessed it happen.

Re: 100 Points
I think its way too early to say that there are problems with Johnstown and their new coach. Yes its never good to give up 110+ points to a single A team(or anyone for that matter), but they will do their share of damage in the LHAC. I dont think that because parents are unhappy that it necessarily means that the coach is not doing his job. I thought for the most part they played very hard and competed. I like the way that they are using their athleticism and are playing fast and using the full court trap. Granted they gave up a ton of easy buckets to BC but I dont think that the majority of the teams they play will beat the press like that. Early on BC struggled a bit and it turned into easy buckets for the Trojans. Sure its easy to say that they should have adjusted and changed their defense but in the grand scheme of things if you are playing a new system with a new coach in your first game of the year i have no problem with sticking with what you are going to do for the rest of the season. In all reality it was one game in a non section matchup so its not the end of the world. I think they win their section and will get another shot at BC.
Re: 100 Points
Johnstown will be fine. Other than BG, who can beat them in the LHAC? Remember they beat Richland twice last year and they have everyone back plus Gause. I say 19-3

Re: 100 Points
To answer that question, Somerset and Johnstown split last year, and that could very well happen again. Somerset also won D6 AAA also. I wouldn't overlook them.
Re: 100 Points
Good call, forgot about Somerset
