Pat Narduzzi should be suspended
Re: Pat Narduzzi should be suspended
I wouldn't have a problem if after the PSU game he didn't say Franklin was making excuses then turn around and do the same thing as Franklin last night.

The Penn State fan base never ceases to amaze me.Keep doing what you guys do. Heal up buddy.
Re: Pat Narduzzi should be suspended
Haven't heard much from the Nit fans since the game at Michigan. One win against OSU and now they are EMBOLDENED, and all of the sudden have come out of the woodwork.

Here we go... cant talk pitt without complaining about penn state and cant talk penn state without complaining about pitt. This is making a joke of each other. Its sad and pathetic

Konjo, it's called a rivalry.
As to the Pitt fans, yeah Penn State has its skeletons in their closet. I'm not here to debate them. They have been hashed out over the last 6 years. They lost to Pitt and got demolished by Michigan but the Nittany Lion fanbases called out their program. Penn State has the 2nd youngest roster in nation and most of their upperclassmen were at one time a walk-on. Bumps in the road were to be expected. If you look at my Penn State preview thread, I predicted a loss to Pitt and a win against Michigan. I was pretty close but the "signature win" came against Ohio State instead of Michigan.
What does this have to do with Narduzzi's actions last night? This is why your program has had 1 ten win season in the last 40 years. They don't hold themselves accountable. When they have an embarrassing performance on national television they just point their fingers 136 miles to east and sing "Kumbaya". Meanwhile, the national TV announcers last night and the national sports talk show hosts this morning are literally laughing at your head coach.
If any Pitt "supporters" actually want to discuss their program:
1) Are you bothered by the way Narduzzi acted last night? Is it acceptable or should his behavior be discussed by the university?
2) Has the blueprint to beat this Narduzzi defense written last night. I couldn't imagine the Pitt fans sitting and watching that. It was the equivalent of the jet sweep against Penn State's defense in week 2. At least Penn State tried to make some adjustments throughout the game and eventually slowed it down a little.
3) I know I'm beating a dead horse here but that attendance last night was laughable. A late October league game that more than likely was going to determine who is going to the league championship game and 25,000 people came out. Could you imagine if 25,000 fans came out to Camp Randall on Saturday night, sections of the upper deck of the Utes bs Huskies game were without anyone in it, or if the stadium for the Clemson/FSU game is 40% full? Those are the other games this weekend that will highly influence their conference championships. I mean this is the most important game probably in 5 years at Heinz Field for Pitt.
To make matters worse, Pitt actually sold those seats to that game last night (thank you Penn State) but they couldn't get anyone to show up. Not even at $6 a seat. No pirates game, steelers bye week, good weather, Kennywood was closed down, and Pitt wasn't even competing with other local college teams. Must have been that darn Penguins game.

Re: Pat Narduzzi should be suspended
Why are Penn State fans obsessed about Pitt's attendance?
As for Narduzzi, his antics likely prevented two or three calls from being made. Pitt's corners were outmanned and as a result held on almost every pass play. It was almost as though they were challenging the refs to call it. When they did Narduzzi complained. It was all he could do to get in the refs' heads to make them think twice about calling it the next time.

Re: Pat Narduzzi should be suspended
Abpk certainly cares about Pitt more than I do Penn State
Re: Pat Narduzzi should be suspended
Vegas odd makers consistently say they influence the spread as much as 5.5 points based on the quality atmosphere. These are the guys that put multi-billion dollar castles in the sky off of their abilities. So I think they understand the importance of a hostile environment.knowitall wrote:Why are Penn State fans obsessed about Pitt's attendance?

5 points on Thursday night wins the game for Pitt. That same can be said the week before for Ohio State at Happy Valley.
So keep pretending that 25,000 people showing up to a primetime basically division championship game isn't an issue.
Can someone Name me one other power 5 program that would have had 25,000 people at a game of the significance of Thurday night's for Pitt? I know I certainly can't think of one.

Re: Pat Narduzzi should be suspended
The crowd was about 40,000. If it was on a Saturday they probably get closer to 48,000. I didn't have a problem with the crowd, seemed pretty normal. It sure wasn't 25,000. The Navy game in 2007 on a Wednesday was probably 25,000 though. That was the worst I've ever seen it. Thursday games suck though. Good to watch on TV, bad on the fans. There's a reason the Big Ten never does them and the SEC rarely does them. Just not fan friendly, you either have to leave work early or call off the next day. It's more of a commitment then waking up on a Saturday.
I'm not sure what Penn State fans want from Pitt fans. Penn State has a bigger school, bigger school = more fans. If there was an attendance trophy to hand out, they'd sure as hell get it. It seems to be the only one they care about. I'm content with having the head to head win.
As for the officiating for the VT game, I think they missed 3-4 PI's on Pitt. I think they incorrectly called 2 PI's on Pitt, probably as make up calls. And I think VT probably should have gotten two offensive PI's. It was a very touchy, grabby game on the outside. The refs let it get that way by not stopping it early on.

All I'm saying is he said Franklin was making excuses after that game then he does the same thing, so don't make fun of somebody then do the same dang thing
