Franco once 7 years without a championship, Wilson has only been 2. Not every year plays out as expected.silentbob wrote:Grassi and Correntte, I know people up there aren't happy, but especially in the case of CC I really don't think they had much there this year... Who replaces these guys?
If Coach Bailey is really done that is the end of quite an era... They aren't what they used to be, but in his day he was one of the best this area has ever seen.
Wilson, feel bad for him. Super high expectation there. They don't have the horses they did back when Franco was there.
Max Shoemaker?? anyone know how much longer he will stay on at CR?
I think Hayes and Bailey have the Paterno, Bowden thing going on. Sooner or later someone is going to have to call it quits.
I would think Central Cambria, and Carroll have to make a change

I know coaches who say that the problem at PL isn't with Overdorff, but more so with non-supportive parents who aren't on board with his methods. Nothing hinders a program more than complaining parents who can't get on board because the coach is being too hard on their fragile children.

Hasn't Purchase Line been successful at the midget and junior high levels the past few years? There's talent there, but I agree with you that can be a hindrance.

Can we please stop with this argument? Just because a team is good in Jr. High or elementary does not mean it translates into varsity. And vice versa. Just because a group of 4th graders don't win a game form grades 4-8 doesn't mean that team will be horrible their senior year. Kids mature at quicker rates than some. Heck there was a guy who was in my grade who I swear was shaving in 7th grade. He was a monster in Jr. High and Junior Varsity. Didn't even play his senior year. Everyone caught up with him. Also how much effort kids put into it counts more than "well so and so was good in 5th grade, so they have talent". That 5th grader who was a beast, might not lift a weight and take it seriously his whole life. But the timid kid who only got his mandatory 10-15 plays, might flick the switch and be really good by 10th grade.CrimsonLion wrote:Hasn't Purchase Line been successful at the midget and junior high levels the past few years? Well it's nice to start a winning mentality at an early age and also have them become football intellectuals. Understanding the game at a young age helps leaps and bounds as they move up the system especially at schools where the entire system runs the same offense.

Yes, Learning the game at a young age can help the varsity program. Not the Win/Loss record when they're 10 years old.

I don't think Tyrone's Wilson is going anywhere anytime soon. Young team, lots of injuries. Just had a down season, that's all.

What about Baker at Central? He's been in it for a very long time! He's not on the hot seat...but, he gotta hang the whistle up sooner than later.

It would be interesting to see someone give Shane McGregor a chance, currently working as a TSS, looking for teaching job, Division I playing experience, is great with the kids. Might be the kind of coach to help bring some excitement to a struggling program.

This has to be one of the most inaccurate posts I have ever read on here, Shane McGregor doesn't even have a teaching degree or certificateCoffinCorner wrote:It would be interesting to see someone give Shane McGregor a chance, currently working as a TSS, looking for teaching job, Division I playing experience, is great with the kids.
