Re: Should Clairton's Wade be Disciplined!
I think that the biggest issue is how he started his rant, basically stating that he is untouchable , that they can not do anything to him. Many coaches have complained about officiating in the past and will in the future, but the whole part about them not being able to fine him. That is the portion that really stands out. I would bet that he is a member of the Pennsylvania Coaches association which probably has some type of member policy. The PIAA has specific language about official abuse. On top of everything this is an administrator at McKeesport, which I would think would want him to maintain some professionalism, pretty hard for him to act like that on Friday and then go to school and ask parents or students to be responsible for their actions. For his team to dominate all year as it had prior to BG, it does not appear that officiating had much impact on the season, so his fans crying on facebook about Clairton always losing the penalty battle does not hold much water.
The glass at Clairton appears to be half empty going forward without the previous years worth of talent coming back next year, maybe he knows he is done and went out with a bang.

it is absolutely different. In their last trip to Hershey, we know what happened and it was followed by a rant from their coach on how they were targeted by refs all year TO THE MEDIA. That's the key. Then when they lost again, a longer rant. I've been interviewing coaches for a long time and 99.9% of the time they will question a call or two, but not go ballistic on them. As a coach you have a certain responsibility to teach your players the proper way to conduct yourself, and to accept the outcome. Remember, Wade went on that rant right in front of his players.knowitall wrote:Is Wade's behavior really any worse than the behavior of a prima donna coach or two at one of the lower profile, lilywhite schools around here?
From PIAA RULES:
SPORTSMANSHIP AND UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT
The following conduct, and any conduct of a similar nature may subject actors to any and all remedial measures available to PIAA.
E. A Coach criticizes Contest Officials through the media or to student-athletes or spectators, rather than through the appropriate review process.
F. A Coach promotes unfounded rumors of questionable practices by opponents.

GREENSBURG (KDKA) — A high school basketball coach will have to watch from the stands when his team competes in the WPIAL playoffs.
It’s all over a post-game incident involving a referee.
The incident allegedly took place Jan. 18 after Greensburg Central Catholic’s loss to McKeesport.
Greensburg Central Catholic’s head basketball coach Greg Bisignani is accused of verbally abusing and bumping a referee, 58-year-old Mike Tucci.
Video shows some of the alleged contact with Tucci who testified during a WPIAL Board of Control hearing that the incident “affected him greatly.”
During the same hearing, Bisignani denied touching the official intentionally, but admitted to vocal criticism.
Earlier this week, the Board of Control issued this directive to Greensburg Central Catholic:
Suspend Coach Bisignani for three games
Failure to do so means no playoffs
Require Coach Bisignani to enroll in the American Coaching Effectiveness Program
Also, the GCC Boy’s Basketball team is on probation through 2014-15 season
Greensburg Central was given the right to appeal the measures to the PIAA, but this morning, the Diocese of Greensburg released a statement from a school administrator, Sr. Mary Norbert.
It reads: “We did not want to jeopardize the boys’ opportunity to participate in this year’s WPIAL playoffs. I want to be clear that we do not condone inappropriate conduct by anyone associated with our athletic programs.”
From a couple seasons ago, but shows that coaches have been held responsible for actions in the past:
Greensburg Central Catholic Junior-Senior High School and boy’s basketball coach Greg Bisignani will abide by the disciplinary measures outlined by the WPIAL.
KDKA contacted Bisignani and were told he would not be making any comments about the incident or any rulings.
