They played a 8-4 team from sunbelt, 7-5 team from sunbelt, 4-6 team from southern and 2-10 team from ACC.

With that non conference schedule they need to win their conference. Heck they havent have had to play the other top 2 or 3 SEC teams this season. LSU was overrated and rest of their sec division underperformed hard

Alabama's SOS is ranked in the top 10, so that doesn't really hold up. Anyway, Alabama is gonna win on Saturday so this argument probably isn't worth the time.

Agree on that prediction.

But if they do lose and there are other undefeated teams and 1 loss conference champs they have no business being in. When you only have 4 slots give it to 4 conference champions because you cant realisticly say X team is better than X team without bias or if they havent played each other

We already have a invisible barrier that 5 conferences are miles ahead of the rest we do not need a new barrier that one conference should always get 2 teams in, which would start to become a precedent for SEC if bama loses and gets in.
Alabama who didn't win there conference  got in last year

Alabama is in, win or lose this week.
Notre Dame already in.
Clemson win and in.
Georgia win and in.
Oklahoma win and a Georgia or Clemson loss.
Ohio St. win and Oklahoma , Georgia or Clemson loss.
Two years ago we heard Penn State shouldn’t make it because of the blow out loss to Michigan. Ohio st lost and lost big to Purdue. One good showing should not get them in.

Konjo, what is your opinion on UCF with the injury to Milton? As much as I don’t think they should be there, it would have been entertaining to put them in and see what happens but now I’m not sure. Additionally, you can’t criticize Alabama’s weak out of conference schedule when it’s the same quality of teams that UCF plays every week.

If Bama lost to Georgia in September, they'd still be 12-1.  It shouldn't matter when it happens IMO.  I think teams that lose early get too many benefits of the doubt sometimes.
Agreed, it’s crazy you can lose to an awful team week 1 and get in but lose to a top 5 team week 12 and you’re out. Both 12-1 records

If UCF wins they should be in I believe. You look at the teams and if they did everything they could to win everygame this season then they should qualify.

Teams with a loss cant say they did that, especially Ohio State. Anyone who wants to put them infront of ucf just rides the big 10s you know what. A top 4 team does not lose by 29 points period, let alone to a middle of the pack team.

If you want 8 teams then its different but when its top 4 there should extremely tough basis of if a team did everything they could of to win every game. We have already seen teams get blown out in the final 4, so why does it matter if it happens again?

I think it sucks that in reality only a few schools have a chance to win a national championship in college football. Everyone says win all your games but that doesn’t matter. Hypothetically, if every power 5 conference had a team go undefeated, someone is not getting. UCF isn’t I. A power 5 but haven’t lost a game in 2 years & have zero chance of getting into the playoff. Not a big fan of the system I guess.
