seed times are personal records...not average times...theres kids on the bedford team that have run in the low 4:50's, but a few days/weeks later run a 5:10....it all has to do on how the person is feeling that day and conditions...seed times are nothing more than to give a general idea on who is capable of what, not who will actually perform what.

Yes i realize that but I also heard this weekend that was his first meet of the year competiting in. Can someone verify that at all?? IF it was his actual first meet his seed times were just a little off.

FM's high school science teacher who is coaching them called in his times. He is able to run under the times called in for him. I think it was his second time competeing.

He must have had a bad day. I ran my best 3200, and beat Nick Jones, who ran an 11:38. However, I was there when he got his seed time for this meet, of 10:59. I think Crouse might have had a bad day as well.

josh's time in the 1600 was not that far off his seeded time of 4:54, not 4:47, the track record, read carefully and get your facts straight before you go trashing him.

RUN JOSH RUN

Josh has put a lot of time in running and trying to beat that record. I will be happy when he beats the record.

I don't think anyone is "trashing" Crouser....In fact it's very admirable that he's running without a true team, he's obviously a very dedicated young man. What some people have questioned, is the validity of the seed times. He was within 8 sec. of his 1600 seed time but was 8 sec. + off in the 800 and a whopping :45 off in the 3200 and several coaches have questioned the honesty of whoever (coach??) submitted his seed times. Feeling is if they hadn't run in any meets fine, take a guesstimate but make it a "conservative" guesstimate not something that will make him the top seed in two events (which it did).

Good luck to him and let's hope the seed times for Districts, now that he's run, are accurate.
