Is O'Neal from Ridge ok? I didn't see her name in the results for the hurdles. I don't think Ridge lined up for the 4x4 as well.

Katie wasn't able to make finals in either the 110s or the 300s. The 110s I didn't really figure on her making the finals, but she had a pretty bad day in the 300s, say about 52 or 53. That wasn't good enough up there. Ridge also got their 4x800 relay team to run very well, judging by the West Central results. Running a 10:30 is pretty darn good for girls.
Sarah Fyock is decent in the 800, but probably Ridge's biggest weakness, at least in comparison to Berlin, is distance. But that's just in comparison to the freshman phenom, but really, Ridge is overall a very well rounded team.
But I do think that Berlin's strength, especially in some events (distance) will allow them to go undefeated for the season. They match up with just about everything that Ridge has I think.

Berlin with all of their girls team would have done well but wouldn't have come close to winning. Elk County was by far the class of the teams there.

i think ecc is one of the few private teams that recruits for track, most of the times the private schools dont have enough kids to have a good track team (ie bishop carroll) but looks like they got there act together up there in elk county, there boys came in second at both WCC's and the igloo at the beginning of the year.

ECC girls 4x800 and 4x400's were very impressive. Unfortunately a 9:22 in the 4x800 is well behind another AA private school in the state....Gynwedd Mercy Academy has run 9:04 (as they did last year). 4 girls averaging 2:16! GMA has been turning out excellent runners for over 20 years now.

Berlin finished the regular season undefeated tonight by beating Ridge and Allegany from Maryland.

The Ridge guys ran away with the meet....it wasn't even close. Kevin Bittner from Berlin threw something like 187 in jav, though, which is cool.

No kidding. With D'Con, a very large part of Berlin's track team, out they didn't have a chance. They just went in to do as much damage as they could and have one last chance to get qualifying times and distances for districts.

And I forgot to mention some interesting news about the girls meet, too, about district qualifying times.

Tory Castro ran the top time in the 400 today in 62.8, our 4x100 team ran 53.8 today for first in the district and the 4x400 team ran 4:23 to snap what was virtually a four way tie for the first seed between Ridge, Meyersdale, Bedford, and us. And even though this isn't a first place ranking in the district, my coach had me run the 1600m today to see if I could qualify (I've never run the 1600 EVER before.) and I ran a 5:55 to be either 3rd or 4th as of now. Districts is gonna be interesting INDEED......
