Any talk about who the candidates are?

Also, are there any good training prgrams being conducted for the jr high age players?

Look in the State College area, they seem to have a strong group in that locale.

there are no jr. high programs right now, and i don't know who has applied for the girls job. It would be nice if there were a jr high program

I guess I was talking about an individual taking a group to compete in some leagues up in the Altoona or State College areas. There are some good teams from that area. A friend of mine had his son playing on a team that travelled all across the notheast and midwest.

Might be worthwhile checking into see what all is available.

ANother thought would be to load a grop up and go to a camp at one of the colleges.

the thing with the altoona/state college type teams is that the majority of them suck. they do have classic or cup teams that are better than the normal sunday travel teams that just about everyone around plays. and some of those cup teams are very good, but others should be sunday travel. pittsburgh has the best teams around if u want competition, Beadling is considered to be one of the top organizations in the entire country, to play for a Beadling soccer team is one HECK of an accomplishment.

Suck when compared to what? They must be a step up from what else is available locally. What is there to the east? Harrisburg, Chambersburg, Hagerstown, etc?

they suck when compared to anything good...pittsburgh, maryland, chambersburg...west central pa sunday travel teams are flat out terrible

So then this presents the questionas to how is one supposed to develop talent. I dont mean an individual or 2 but a percentage of the team? Your point that these teams are terrible means that it is better to not play at all?

well that depends on how good the team ur playing for is...if u take Bedford's or McConnelsburg's starting varsity against most of the sunday travel teams in the area, u can bet on frequent double digit scores in ur favor, now if u play on a team such as the Bedford County Soccer Club, which im ashamed to say i did play for one year, then look for double digit scores against u. i think the closest game i had in that one year was a 9-1 loss. the very next year however i moved to a team in jtown and that same team that beat the BCSC team 9-1 lost 6-1 to my new team. i guess what im trying to say is...if ur looking to take ur jv guys somewhere to help develop them a lil more and mayb earn a spot on the varsity bench, then play sunday travel in west central pa...but if u want to make guys that will be varsity starters on a playoff team, then u gotta either play pittsburgh or chambersburg/harrisburg teams or u can move up a level and play cup/classic.
