Friday Night H.S. scores hot off the press

First half was mistake ridden. We allowed a HUGE pass to end the half which put them on the 2 with 5 secs left and they scored....had all the momentum.

One of the mistakes I never saw before. We had them punting. A player had his mouthpiece hanging out because he had another one in. The ref said deception and they got the first down which led to 6.

The second half was power I in your face smash you in the mouth knock you on your butt football. It was GREAT to see. Donaldson was running great behind the wall of blockers. Kilgore hit a splitback counter for a TD from 50 yds out to give us the GW TD. I am still in amazement.

No rosebuds...they were kicking away from it...When it did go to the middle upback he just took off....

What a great game. Southern came out and played solid ball the first half. They moved the ball fairly well, and had a couple big pass plays that set them up with a comfortable lead. The 3rd quarter started and it looked like a NBC came out of their first half body bags. They ran alot of misdirection and took advantage of some costly Southern errors. NBC deserved the win. They fought tooth and nail in the 2nd half. It just goes to show you that "it ain't over till the fat lady sings." One thing that always seems to baffle me is why teams work hard to establish field goal kickers. The teams who don't have one, it just seems that it comes back to bite them in the end. S.H. didn't put the tee on the field once, and it cost them 3 points, cuz they didn't convert on the tries. Although they lost by 6 points, only down 3 points late in the game sure changes strategy.

nothin to b sorry bout K, noone wants to think that a kicker can make a difference but theyre wrong...u get a guy that kicks touchbacks everytime u score and can get u three points when its 4th and 10 on the 45....then ur in like flint

Maybe Shaler could have used the halftime speech during their week one shut out loss. They bounced back well in week 2 with a "w" and if they are now 2-1, I'm sure our WPIAL Titan will let us know. (Remember the powers to the west started a week early)

4th and 10 from the 45? that would make that about a 62 yard kick gunner, even with the block not many highschool kickers can even fathom kicking the ball that far
