I Gaurantee That most schools in the WEAKPAC WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE in the ICC!!! The ICC is not as weak as many people think Espially you Gunner!!! :x

Who could Windber, Portage, Conemaugh Valley, Berlin, and Blacklick not beat in the ICC. Again I am not knocking the ICC but this year I believe all but 2-3 A teams in the ICC would have trouble winning 5 games in the WEAKPAC!

Moshannon Valley, Claysburg, Northern Bedford, Juniata Valley, Bellwood, Bishop Guilfoyle, ......(Southern Huntingdon is a stretch)....would be just fine in the conference, more than 2 or 3.

Wildcat: I respectfully disagree.

First I think Bellwood, BG, and Mo Valley are better than anyone in the WestPac this year....and I'm only counting the "A" schools, obviously C.Ridge would fall into that category too. Portage is the only team that appears to be in those teams class unless Windber comes back strong after their week 1 upset loss.

As for teams who could win 5....who could beat Shade, Mey, Ferndale, and two from among CV, CTwp, NS, and BV....I could list Claysburg, Jun. Valley, Everett, N.Bedford, Penns Valley and the 4 teams listed above as virtual shoe-ins....That's 9 teams who could win 5 games vs a Westpac schedule....And I guarantee that even if 2 faltered, came up a game short for some reason...that's still 7...that enough???!!!!

I don't know about PV, they look pretty weak.

Head Roadie, I respectfully disagree with you and that is fine. Everett is Double A, Ridge Double A. I think Claysburg up till last Friday was able to win 5 I think they would struggle to get 5 now. NBC I think would struggle to win 5. Penns Valley I don't think either. You know it is fun to discuss this but you know we will never find out. I guess the people on the top of the mountain are just tired of being called the Weak Pac. There are some really good football teams that play up here just like there are good teams that play in the ICC. District 5 Single A playoffs should be interesting to see how West-Pac and Icc do when they go head to head. Good luck to all.

Finally a good debate! The WeakPAC v. the ICC (I can't compete).

1. Windber should be AA! not A!
2. We'll find out if Berlin or Portage is for real this week.
3. The ICC has much more depth and quality teams than the ICC but then again it has more teams
4. Bellwood and BG would dominate year in and year out in the WestPAC everyone except Windber.

Southpaw only a few points of debate.
1. Windbers numbers aren't as close as they were 2 years ago.
2. Berlin and Portage should be a great game in the rain. Would be a track meet if it was dry. Berlin will be good for the next few years Coach Paul may be buiding something pretty good there.
3. The West Pac has been a 4 team league in the past. This year Berlin and Blacklick are good and take Township out this year.
4. I don't necessarily think they would dominate Portage year in year out. Heck those 2 teams have dominated the Icc for years also.

Wildcat....I think we can both agree that both conferences are stronger than many of the surrounding areas that don't belong to those conferences think. Both leagues have some "have nots" in any particular year but that's typical of Single-A football anywhere. Note that I'm one of the non-Westpac people that does not use the term "WeakPac".

With Everett in "AA" for a two-year cycle and unless Tussey's program really takes off next couple weeks, expect only NB to crash an All-Westpac D5 playoff race so there really won't be much in the way of comparisons. Looks like Berlin and Windber are the favorites to reach the title game with NB looking like anything from a #3 to #5 seed depending on how well they finish the season.

D6-A playoffs may provide more comparisons...Looks like Portage and Blacklick or Conemaugh Valley will probably get in and there's a good chance they could be paired with BG, Bellwood, Mo Valley, or Claysburg...all threats to get in, at some point in that tournament.

Head Roadie is there a guarenteed 6 teams to make 5 A play offs? Just by watching at this point I think we are going to struggle getting 6 teams to get 4 wins. Just in the West Pac. Meyersdale, Township, and Shade are going to struggle to win 2 games let alone 4. North Star could possibly win 3-4 games. But then finally not in the West Pac for football Turkeyfoot and Rockwood will maybe win 2 or 3 games. You put this with Tussey this may be a pretty thin playoff.
