It looks like Bd4dBeckham mixed up county and districts. Sacksen from Rockwood was the guy who was 2nd in the dist. 3200.

Isaac Curry was second in the one mile at districts, and he did go to states because Sanner wanted to concentrate on the two mile. Isaac has graduated, however, two freshmen will be stepping up to take his place at Tussey Mountain next year. Ian Mitchell and somebody else (help my memory), but they are both very talented. I believe one ran a 10:56 3200 and a 4:57 1600, and the other one was at about 5:12 for the 1600. I think the 800 times were 2:09 and 2:16 respectively. This was in eighth grade, and provided they don't burn out, one or both will be state medalists before they graduate. Donnie Sanner will be returning next year as Meyersdale's top runner. Bedford lost Arne Ulbrich, but they have Tyler Bollman returning, as well as Jeremy Davis. Everett's Jacob Ratliff may or may not be returning, I am not sure. He wasn't a legit threat all of last season, but he greatly improved his time at districts to an 11:15. Northern Bedford I'm not sure who's returning, but I know Elliot Uhlig and Nick Jones graduated. Rockwood may have Sam Sackson returning, but I'm not sure. Really, I don't know what most of the teams in the district do or do not have so far as distance or anything, but I am familiar with most Bedford County teams. I think Windber had Frank Rummel, but he may have been a senior. So far as Chestnut Ridge, those are heavily guarded secrets that I am not allowed to tell, or at least that's what the CR Secret Society has told me.

Sacksen of Rockwood did graduate. Rummell from Windber will be a senior this season. I think the other Tussey kid you are thinking of is named Donaldson. Both the Tussey kids made it to states in cross country this year and should be a force for years to come. Based on cross country, the Ridge kids should do very well this spring.

Yes, Donaldson was the name I was trying to think of, and he was their 4:57 mile guy. Darn it, don't give away any secrets about Ridge, lol. Actually I don't care, the secret is probably out. Logan Showalter and Ernie Ickes should do really well this spring. Ernie might run the relay and the 3200, and Showalter might do all three, though if Ernie's real good, Logan wouldn't do the 3200. I also really admire the grit of Luke Mock in sticking it out last year and doing his best. To be honest, I really think I admire a person more who runs and finishes every race, even when he knows he doesn't stand a chance, than a person who wins all the time on pure talent. In fact, it should be I really admire that type of person more, no thought about it. He works hard every spring, and while he may not be a flyer by any means, he still tries hard and does his best. There is no shame in that.

what about snyder from everett he's a junior and i heard is pretty good at the 1600
Re: Who are some good distance runners this year...
Yeah, he is pretty good. I said his name quite a few posts back but noone seemed to know much or want to talk about him. He ran around 4:40 as a sophmore so he has great potential.
