Re: school records!
The school records for Forbes Road are 4:28 for 1600 and 9:56 for 3200.
What's that you say? Forbes doesn't have a track team? You are right but they did have a few guys that ran unattached at several meets in McConnellsburg and Everett, Ship Invitational, District 5, and PIAA back in the late 80's and early 90's
Michael Newman ran the 4:28 at the Hancock Invitational in 1989, I think. His best at District 5 was around 4:32, just short of a district record. He medaled at PIAA in 1989.
Newman ran his 9:56 at PIAA in 1988, as a junior.
Other good runners in District 5 I remember from that time were Scott Raley and "Braindead" from Tussey, Collins from Shade, and Bart Teeter from NBC. Jerry Rasmussen was amazing at 400 and did well at states.

Re: school records!
LP I don't think that Jerry Rasmussen ran the two mile. 100, 200, and 400 were his events.

Not sure about in 1990, but I'm almost positive he did in 1989. Jason Cole and he place 1 & 2 at the county meet that year.
Unless it was someone else from Tussey......
You have me questioning my memory now........

Rasmussen I don't think ran the 800m in competition but I heard he could run a sub 2:00 consistently in practice.

Can you check on the question about Hunter? When did he graduate, and what were his times?

Kind of like Bill Smith back in the late 80's. I think he only ran the 1600 a few times in competition, but he could fly. I can't remember his times though.
He was more of a 400 and 800 guy, but he could smoke any of us distance runners, and most of the sprinters too.
