Derrick Harris will not go D-I for one simple reason, he has broken the same bone in his foot twice.

I remember all this talk of Troy going D-I last year about this time. Getting looked at by D-I programs means absolutely nothing. When it gets down to it, not many athletes from our area will ever get a D-I scholarship for football. Anybody can get looked at, a very select few get offered, and even then, few sign for the big D-I school due to the playing time that will become available to the individual.

Times, sizes will help here. Just saying that he is a 'truck' or a 'tank' and an athlete means nothing, those midgets that are in the circus and do all those flips and things like that are athletes...

Ben brought his girlfriend Carrie with him from MI.

I was referring that Eric is the one player from CR that has a shot at D1. Certainly Derrick Harris is a super athlete in his own right.

I am not sure that if anyone has noticed this but the time tables for recruiting have drastically changed...most of the top D1 schools offer their recruiting targets byt he summer and if an athlete may have a chance to develop a school might offer the kid in hopes that he will fill the depth chart in that position and maybe develop into a good player...most of the D1 targets have been offered...so if you are a certain D1 player than you probably would have an offer by now...

Dawg your posts and replies are usually well thought out and intelligent. But to say Young is a Div 1 prospect I am thinking you are thinking with your heart being you once lived in Ridge district. I saw Ridge play couple times last year and Young was is good high schol player but he did not and I repeat he did not dominate people in the games i saw. Again we have kids on here who brag up there teammates and that is good but no way is this kid Div 1 material. You seem like a intelligent guy but come on now. Just think about it. This kid playing at say a Penn state or a Pitt? Look at the linemen bedford has had over the years. Look at the Harris kid. He is going Div 1 AA and he has been one of the best kids athletically to come out of this area in quite a while. You are telling me he is a div 1 prospect and comparing him to Turkovich who is going to Notre Dame?? Please if you can dont no if you can please attend the Big 33 game here in latter part of July. Watch those linemen play in that game from both sides and you tell me he is Div 1 material?? He is div 3 for sure maybe maybe div 2. MAybe.

I am thinking with my heart. No doubt. The thing with Eric is that he is a kid who plays with no fear. He is clean, keeps things in perspective and works hard. Will he end up playing for a D1 school? I hope he plays his Sr. year with the level of intenisty that the opportunity would present itself. If either his coach or his folks promote him and help establish contacts for him then he should have a D2 offer.

I like Eric and wish him the best.

What happened to Ridge's star player and college prospect from last year?? Did he get no offers? I heard Barefoot is going to IUP but not playing football, can anyone confirm one way or the other?

Head Roadie...if barefoot does play...he'll have to be a walk on...he didn't get the scholarship (or at least that's what i was told). To be quite honest...i don't think Eric Young is D-1 quality...i don't even think he'll be the best player on the lion's team next year.
