Westmont will be tough. They always are. But they don't have the top player in the conference. He's a shooter and a scorer but like username said, tough man to man D can take that away and there are a few teams in the conference that play that type of D.

In reply to the guy that said McCort was the team to beat in basketball this year, I would agree if it were football, but no way in basketball. They lost 60% of their scoring when Oconner graduated and now Wadley is not going to be able to play. Also the point guard is coming back from a serious leg operation.

size doesnt matter westmont will be fine. look at the size they had last year and look what they did. i talked to one of the players and they are 34-3 on the summer. watson can contain jordan miller hes overrated. no doubt the team to beat. and i want to see you stop joe balog. this will be the best team westmont has ever had.

mccort did lose their prime time player so i would have to go with CC as the favorite follwoed by westmont and mccort , jtown could be strong even tho they lost 4/5 starters, the surprise .500 plus team could be richland with some return starters, some decent height and a transfer but who knows with them anything could happen

CC has to be the favorite going in but Westmont will be tough as will McCort. The three best coaches in the conference who always have their teams ready to play, no matter what type of talent they have.
Johnstown will be quick and athletic as they always are but will they play under control and will they utilize their strengths?
Richland, gotta disagree with you there. Although I only saw a few of their games last year, their varsity or JV didn't impress me at all. Very little on the offensive side and not the least bit tough on D.

Look for Central Cambria's young squad of bballers to accel this year. Obviously, Jordan Miller will run the show at the point this year, something he actually could've done last year as a freshman. Miller specializes in pushing the ball and creating plays, with one of the benefactors being 6'4" small forward Michael Gowen, a slasher who finishes very well at the hoop. The Holsinger boys, 6'5" Dan and nationally ranked 6'8" Brian, will hold down the 4 and 5 spots. They will most definitely be a tough tandem for any team to handle. Pack it in on them, though, and surely you'll be burnt by Miller and Shane McGregor, a 6'1" junior who led the team in 3 pointers made last year as a soph. With Miller, McGregor, and Gowen on the perimeter, the Holsingers in the middle, and a good bench led by the strong Corey Faish (one of only two seniors), Central Cambria will surely challenge for LHAC and D6 supremacy this year and next year, where all five projected starters will return again.

I have to disagree with all of you. The hilltoppers should definatley be the favorites. No one this year will be able to stop Balog, and lets face the facts. Every starter on that team from Watson-Balog-Stevenson-Trotz.They all can make shots when u need them. I've seen some summer games with this team and although they are just playing West-Pac teams, they are winning their games close to 70 points. If you ask me CC will give westmont a little run, but with westmonts speed and quickness, they will just demolish teams in the second half. Westmont will win LHAC and D6 championship this year, and i wouldn't be surprised if they made it to State semi's or even the State Championship.

Westmont: State semis or state championship? C'mon. They will definitely be competitive in the LHAC and D6. They always are. They have good talent and Roman does a great job using the strengths of his players and not aking them to do things that they can't. But the state semis or championship, now that's a long, long, long stretch.
