I thik that Mount Union will do pretty good this year i was up at teh 7 on 7 up at Huntingdon and saw Mount Union playing they didn't look to good on defence, but on offence they looked alright when Jimmy Smith was on at the quarterback position. If Jimmy does good at his position i think that the trojans will have an alright season, but if JImmy isnt on they will do very poorly.

HAHAHAHAHA Jimmy Smith are you kidding me. Isn't he the little red-headed boy who was quarterback for the Jr. High team last year. I doubt that kid could throw the football 40 yards. Now he may be a good runner, the kid is really fast possibly a Split End but it will take him a while to get used to the speed of the Varsity level.

Well i beg to differ yes Jimmy Smith is every fast but i saw him up at the 7 on 7 today also and i dont that Dave Hummel is trying anyone else out at that position. Today Jimmy only made one bad pass and that was on the last trought on the last play. He doesnt have alot of tallent at the reciver position but if he does what he is capable i think that he will do good. And if he doesnt he will always have his Junior and Senior season. And by the way i saw that he can through the ball 55 yareds

Now Mufootballer I am not taking anything away from Jimmy Smith. I barely even know the kid, all i was saying was that he might struggle a little bit coming up to the varsity level for his first year. If Mr. Hummel doesn't have anybody else at the quarterback position it will be great for Smith because he will get all of the practice there and grow as a varsity quarterback, but don't you think that Hummel should get a back up just incase, and if so who?
Maybe Tink Stennett has kids old enough to play? Just kidding with ya. Those were great MU teams, back in the early 90's. Hope you guys can get back to the "upper echelon" again.
Tink, Thats my Boy from IUP...How good were the trojans when he played?
Did they Go to the states or what was the furthest they made it in thier heyday?

As shown by their last game, MU has a lot to improve and will win no more than 1 or 2 games this year. Jimmy Smith will not be the great quarterback 2 years from now. he'll be decent at best, but if the MU coaches were smart, they'd start looking for another quarterback. one that can throw the ball further than 20 yards. I applaud this kid for trying and he can only do what his talent allows, but the coaches need to open their eyes and see that he isn't the answer.
