All coaches/recruiters have been saying for weeks that JD is not fast enough for wr & not quite big enough for te(as yet) & project him as an H-back sort!
[/quote]

Yeah, all the Pitt coaches I'm sure.

As recent as the end of May (from Scout, non-premium):

Jon Ditto is a good looking wide receiver prospect from Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway High School. You got to love his size at 6-4 and 221 pounds or so. At that size he has good speed and strength. Ditto has soft hands and is very good in the air showing excellent body control. He is also fearless going over the middle showing good concentration when knowing he’s going to get punished by the secondary. Ditto also can get by you deep with his deceptive speed. Overall, he looks to be like a very solid receiver prospect and one of the top prospects from the state of Pennsylvania. He could develop into an H-back or flex tight end.

CAN WE ALL SAY: WIDE RECEIVER?

Really I don't think worth arguing over. Just think he's viewed as a tweener!
Just finished with a patient that wants to kill Vman! Trying to keep straight & appropriate face; Vman morbidly thought "what would all my BC pals do if you killed Vman" Maybe dude should get in line! And most of you all didn't believe me @ first when I told you it isn't easy being me! Now you may see! TTFN! have a nifty, nitwitty w/e!

Can we say TIGHT END????? Just got off scout.com football recruiting, where Ditto is listed as a tight end. Also, from Go Blue Wolverine Magazine May 24, 2006: "Things are building to a crescendo for Monroeville Gateway TIGHT END Jon Ditto". So you see, many have listed Ditto as a tight end. So what's everybody's problem? And who the heck is Quarless from PSU? How many catches did he have last year? Got news for everyone. Ditto has more of a chance playing tight end for the NITS than at wide receiver. And he's 6-4, 220lbs? What are his wrist sizes? Since he's going to Happy Valley, the State College Police probably want to know in advance so they can order the handcuffs.

Penn State only has 13 scholarships to give this February. They only have 5 tailbacks on scholarship right now, with Scott and Hunt leaving after this season (unless Scott redshirts. Then they have only 12 scholarships to give out). If I was them, I wouldn't be really worried about tight ends and receivers right now. Unless Kinlaw is their future.

Another player that picked PSU over Pitt (and Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Virginia, etc.)

I don't think Kinlaw is that bad. Out of the 3 RB's that get time, Scott is the worst one out of them.

Quarless:

One of the backs PSU is high on:

Who the heck is Ryan Houston???? Here's the poop: The way it stands now, in 2007 PSU will have 8 WR's on scholarship and 5 TE's on scholarship. They will only have 3 tailbacks on scholarship: Kinlaw, Carter, and Royster. They will only have 13 scholarships to give in Feb 2007. They already have 4 commitments. So go ahead and get as many wr's and te's as you want.

They have ONE.

They are chasing running backs, Moldo. For someone who "knows his enemy" so well you didn't even know we got a 4 star tight end.

You also coincidentally missed a 3 star RB out of McKeesport named Travis McBride that the staff was really high on. Hunt was a 3 star back too, remember, and Antonio Bryant was a 3 star player. That makes it Royster, Kinlaw, Carter, and McBride for the starting job. I like that outlook. Kinlaw is the veteran and the other 3, who the staff all loved, fighting for the spot. I dont think Kinlaw is a detriment.

I will put a PSU type spin on this. Here goes......

Pitt only wanted Ditto to build depth at TE, and he will be a TE for all of you WR dreamers. He would not have played at Pitt until late in his career. With Strong, Pelusi, and Byham, Pitt is solidified at the TE position. We didn't need him.

Maybe he didn't go to Pitt because he saw you lose to Ohio on national television. Wait a minute, that was in 2005, and as we know from the other thread, that season never took place.
