Lantzy Game
Re: Lantzy Game
You guys got me all wrong. First of all, Did I ever put down those 9 kids from BM that are going to play football in college? Heck, I'm here right now fighting for them. I might have referred to them, but never belittled them. Anyhow, if the kids at McCort decide to nominate who should go to the Lantzy Game, could it be possible that they could nominate "friends"? You know how kids are. How can you ignore the efforts of those 9 kids who busted their hump ALL year to put themselves in a position to play football after high school? There is alot of prestige involved in playing in this ALL-STAR game, with the emphasis on ALL-STAR. There is money involved, in the form of scholarships. Who in their right mind lets other 18 year olds decide who should be nominated for this honor. I'm sure that these 9 kids playing next year did not get full rides to their colleges like Shawn Lewis did. Don't you think they deserve a shot at some of the money? Does this type of thing happen in the workplace? Does the boss nominate workers for promotion, or does he let it up to fellow workers? Gee, Bill has 5 kids, he deserves the promotion even though Ed is a better employee. But you see, Ed is single so he doesn't need the money right now. I think that 7 of those kids at McCort got ripped. Someone has to stick up for them. Call me classless, but that's how I feel.

ok moldo you do have a point. i know a few of those guys that wernt chosen and they did work very very hard but the decision came down to who produced on the field some of the guys who are moving on to college didnt get as much playing time but still worked harder then everyone else and never really were given a fair shot to produce on the field. defrances produced on the field when he was healthy and was given the opportunity to do so. i still think he deserves it just as much as the 7 who didnt get picked. ive heard he will be trying to walk on at Ohio U so he still has a shot at playing after high school. but its just how it goes theres always someone thats gonna get left out thats all there is to it. maybe there can be some type of system made that the further your team makes it in the playoffs the more players you can have go. i dont know but you are right there are some players that arent in the game that deserve to be and i feel that there are some that dont really belong. i dont think it should matter how many a shcool can have chosen if the kid is better then someone from another school he should be playing its that simple it shouldnt matter how many from each school go some only really should have 1 player go. some should have 4 or 5. just a thought.

Yea right Moldo, you sticking up for BM kids, we got you alright! Your m.o. precedes you and any dig you can possibly create, stir, infer is transparent!

Great friggin analogy: Let's compare selection to a high school all star game in Cambria County to salaries, promotions in the work place????
Just another extreme implication (or attempt of one) that BM is doing something wrong/out of the ordinary/ inconsiderate of other kids etc...
Good try there Moldy!!!

Uhhh, were we not talking about one slot/opening??? But again it looks better if you try to insinuate that 7 kids got "screwed"....and I'll tell you the funniest part.....if you asked all those 7, I'd bet they would all confirm that Dan D is deserving of the selection. You see Moldy they have class!!!!But keep digging there Moldo!

Re: Lantzy Game
Hey. I thought my analogy of kids being selected for all-star games, and guys being selected for promotions was quite good. But since some of you didn't get the comparison, how about this one: Fighting back from his motorcycle accident, Big Ben actually starts at QB for the first game. In fact, he starts the 1st 5 games for the Steelers. But, alas, due to his injuries, he just can't continue into the heart of the season. And it's not that he played bad. In fact he played quite well. But he just couldn't continue. At the end of the regular season, because he genuinely is a good player and tried real hard during the season, I guess he should be selected for the Pro Bowl. Naturally, alot of players and coaches LIKE him. He's a fan favorite. And again he worked REAL HARD during the season. No one deserves it more than Ben. Forget the other AFC QB's who fought day in and day out all season long to help their teams win. Ben deserves it.........By the way, there is 1) there, 2) their, and 3) they're. Can some of you guys get this right?

Starting next year, the game will no longer be known as The Ken Lantzy Finest 40. It will be called "The Ken Lantzy Finest 38 and a Couple of Nice Guys".
Re: Lantzy Game
I don't get the comparison.
First of all, Brad isn't in the Lantzy game. Secondly, Brad led the District 6 champions in tackles and played the entire season.
Although they were both linebackers, they each performed in their respective defenses. FH usually played a 5-2 or a 6-2, McCort in a 4-4. Obviously, the linebacker responsibilities in those defenses are somewhat different.
Rather then drag down one player for comparison's sake, I'd say they both accomplished what was expected of them and direct comparisons of talent are meaningless.

Re: Lantzy Game
For those of you who think Coach Salem has been absolved in this case, remember this: IRREGARDLESS of how a player is nominated, he still has to be selected by the coaches. Would the player in question have been selected if KS would not have been a coach for the South this year?
