I love the "Pitt is an urban school" argument. No, it isn't, first of all, and secondly, all Pittsburgh is is a bigger Johnstown. It is also the fastest shrinking city in America. Just because there's houses around the campus doesn't mean it's an urban school. And its not like "rural schools" don't have just as many problems as the rest of them. I can almost guarantee you this kid either ends up in the MAC or begging Pitt to let him come back.

Young men being wooed/recruited to play D1 football is analogous to an engagement......RIGHT!!

Following this line of logic being drafted by the NFL is then the same as marriage!!!

And the moral high road dig is pathetic....again he's a 16 yr. old (who has stated for approx. a year that he likes Pitt) & perhaps jumped the gun by giving a verbal....now he's being offered by Fla. St., Nebraska etc...which I believe overwhelmed him....and you're condemning him???

How's this for an analogy.....a young person verbally accepts an offer to attend CMU, majoring in Engineering, on an a full academic scholarship.....
then MIT comes along and offers a full ride to their Engineering program & said student accepts.....are we throwing this individual under the bus....
I think not!!

I'm a known Pitt fan but find no fault in the big business of CFB when young men change their mind.

BTW, saw recently that Pittsburgh was again voted #1 in Most Liveable Cities survey!!! Love the UPS fans that rip on the 'Bugh........
Let's look at State College where 170,000 people go to view spring practice drills because (like Morganhole) the only other thing to do when their boiz aren't breaking & entering and bullying lower status peers is to stay home and give sis' a high hard one!!

Have a little class like others who congratulate local players from any area school who continue on at any level of collegiate competition!

V-mania although I am on your side in the arguement, I will have to call you on your own hypocrisy. I have see your style and "true colors." I guess like the good catholic you are you instruct others to "Do as I say, not as I do" b/c I have seen you diminish the accomplishments of others who play college football from your own team." Just stating facts no need to reply.

What does a student getting a full academic ride to a college bring to that school? Not alot. What does a kid getting a full ATHLETIC ride bring to that school. Plenty. If a kid renieges on an academic scholarship, so what. He wasn't recruited, necessarily. There's another kid to take his place. BUT if a kid renieges on an athletic scholarship, he was a kid WHO WAS WANTED. He was recruited. They needed him or they wouldn't have sought him. The university brought him in with a goal in mind. That's the difference. Again, if I was Pitt, there would not be another offer.

I am sure if this thread was about another player decommitting to Pitt, El Moldo and others would comment on it. Vman, why do you always have to make it everyone against McCort. Been reading this posts for years, and you are a joke. You can turn any thread into "Why is everyone always picking on me(McCort)."

Pitt is also listed as the second most polluted city in America right behind Los Angeles. Sort of contradicts the livable part doesn't it?

Your analogy was obviously stupid so W(hy)TF would I answer a question about my daughters for?
