I don't believe that anybody has ever said that Penn State's program is perfect, did they? I think that you are the only one who has said that in any post. I think the point that we are trying to get across is that they are not as BAD as everyone on here wants to make them out to be. They are a solid (not perfect by far) program. I don't even want to get started on the justice of anything. . . . NOBODY (athletes, citizens, celebrities) gets the proper punishment anymore, I mean comon now, just look at the news; it can be the same crime with two different people and one gets a slap on the wrist and the other gets thrown the book! You've got to be kidding me, court systems are crooked anymore, for everyone.

Ask anyone outside of the PSU circle...Fans from tOSU, Michigan, Pitt, etc. The perception is that PSU has always assumed a "holier than thou" attitude...Beginning with their coach, who wrote his self-serving book "Football: My Way" where he criticizes specific football programs and coaches for the EXACT SAME FREAKING BEHAVIORS that his own players exhibit...and the attitude trickles right down to their arrogant, brainwahsed fans.

In this sense, PSU is nearly as bad as Notre Dame, and maybe worse.

Ok, so your saying that the entire program has a "holier than thou" attitude, but what I'm saying is that nobody on here said that they are a perfect program. So what if Joe Pa wrote a book, its his book; HIS opinion, people can choose to believe it or not. A lot of people write books, take T.O. for instance, he wrote his book and I'm sure he has his own opinions in there that not everyone agrees with, but its HIS opinion. He or Joe Pa didn't say you HAD to read his book, so if you dont agree with it dont read it.

What fans are not going to stick up for their football team? If an argument is presented against their team then they are going to argue out the fact.
You act as if other teams/players dont act arrogant, I don't think it is the fact of being arrogant, but yet being confident, they have a winning attitude brought to them by their coach. They come out on the field, do their job, then leave: to some it might come off as arrogant but IMO its class. Come out do the job and enough said.

But anything anyone says isnt going to change your mind, you have your opinion and we have our opinion.

The folks who think Penn State's program is perfect either are in a nursing home or no longer with us. Let it go

I never claimed our program was perfect, it is not.

But the record of the institution on a Athletic scale is one to be envied. Year-in and Year-out, we have some of the top numbers in graduations for students IN THE COUNTRY.

We have never faced probation from the NCAA.

Also, the football getting in fights, was an OFF-CAMPUS INCIDENT. This does not warrent expulsion from the University as it did not occur ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. Had they beat the crap out of a student in a Dorm, I could see shipping them away, but this is like someone getting in a fight in Philly or Pittsburgh and saying they can't go to school anymore. Just because they're football players doesn't mean they should face a loftier punishment than I would.

Oh yeah, Paterno has them cleaning up Beaver Stadium after every home game......so there is punishment for the students, my question is, how can Steeler and Penguins fans be some of the best people you'll ever meet, whereas.....Panther fans have the same attitude as Eagles fans. They have nothing to be proud of, but just try to tear down other institutions that they cannot compare to ACADEMICALLY or ATHLETICALLY.

So you're saying that Levance Fields, for example, who got himself in trouble in the Strip District in Pittsburgh, which is OFF-CAMPUS, should have this problem IGNORED by the Pitt athletic department? After all, it didn't occur on school property, right? Attention: All college athletes. If you're gonna do something bad (robbery, stealing credit cards, rape, underage drinking), do it OFF-CAMPUS!!!!! It should have NO effect on your athletic or academic careers because it did not happen on school grounds. It should be ignored.

By the way, Scirrotto was "expelled" for the second summer session this past summer at Penn State for his part in that April fight, but was still allowed to attend fall camp in August and practice with the team. Gee, maybe Paterno was too harsh on him. It was an OFF-CAMPUS incident, you know.

First off, Did I ever say the incident should be ignored? NO!!! I'm just saying a student-athlete should not have to face more punishment that I would if I beat up a guy who gave my girlfriend crap @ the Meridian. And I should still face punishment if I did that.

And it was NOT ignored.

Penn State has always held students to the rules when it comes to suspensions (remember when Curtis Enis took that suit??? He didn't play in the Bowl game, and we lost that year, partially due to his absence).

Also, get your terminology right, you're calling for expelling the Students involved. Scirroto was not 'expelled' he was suspended.....

Just respect the fact that Penn State has had incidents, every college has, and every college will continue to. As far as saying we're a bunch of showboats, what a bunch of bull.....We hand the ball to the ref in the end zone, it's business as usual. When's the last time you saw PSU get a celebration penalty?....Not since Arrington have we had an extremely cocky player.

God, I can't wait until you guys get CRUSHED in the Backyard Brawl yet again. Pitt football is a misnomer now (it will come back with your new coach) Just sit back, relax, stop talking crap, and enjoy the fall, cause you guys really don't have much to look forward to until Basketball season.

:)

Curtis Enis got in trouble with the NCAA for his new suit, not Penn State. And Scirotto was expelled for the second summer semester. That's e-x-p-e-l-l-e-d. Not suspended. And what does all this have to do with celebrating in the endzone after a touchdown?

That is a outragous statement from mr. WPIAL.....our players do exibit behaviors of any NORMAL COLLEGE ATHLETE. And to call us brainwashed, arrogant fans......give me a break, everyone up here this week was talking about how this game scared them, how we would be likely to lose, cautious optimism at the BEST.

It wasn't directed at you.....

And, for the love of god, learn the definitions of words....

to expel---
To remove from membership

So if he was really 'expelled' he wouldn't be a member of the university anymore.

to suspend---
To discontinue or interrupt a function, task, position, or event.

Don't spell out words that you don't know the meanings of.

He was S-U-S-P-E-N-D-E-D.....
He was allowed to C-O-M-E B-A-C-K

God, now I feel like an Eagles fan.
