Chestnut Ridge Girls Basketball
Re: Chestnut Ridge Girls Basketball
black looks like a fair coach and all so i figured he was going to be... so i joined the team b/c he asked me to... and it didn't take long to figure out he had his favorites and yea he never yells at them... that is why, i think, they are losing so much... he has got to realize that he needs to work the girls more, all of them, and get agressive with them and don't be afraid to yell at them when they do something wrong... he has to work something out because the game plan now is not working...

Well, another point here might be this. JT is still a young coach with only a few years under his belt. Unless he has someone mentoring him and helping him he is going to make some mistakes.
No a High School basketball team isnt a work place. But there sure are a lot of similarities between the 2. So maybe one private conversation isnt enough. Stick with it.

OMG... I can not believe high school students are complaining about High school basketball. How in the world could Black have favorites? You can only have 5 kids on the court anyway. It's not like he has a lot of talent to choose from any way. JT plays the 5 girls that play the best of the team of maybe 10 girls. Every team is the same way. This is not a hard thing to understand. If you want to play so bad go to practice and work for it. Basketball is a team sport as well. Once the starting five get tired the has to be people on the bench to help out and give breaks. Play for the love of the game.

Dawg, Coach Black has his father to mentor him who coached boys and girls for a very long time. Mistakes will be made regardless the key is to minimize those mistakes and not repeat them.

I agree mistakes will be made, but what mistake was made? The only mistake, I see, is made by the players who come on here and talk bad about their basketball program instead of talking to the coach. Black is a young coach, but he seems to know what to do with what he has.
