Ridge wins County Cup for second consecutive year!
I'm not a dolt, I know that there are two sections in the LHAC.
n) Tie breakers to determine Conference Champions:
1. Best season conference record.
2. Head to head competition.
3. Record versus common conference opponents.
4. Team giving up fewest points versus common conference opponents.
5. Team giving up fewest touchdowns versus common conference opponents.
6. Team giving up fewest points in the season versus all conference opponents.
7. Co-champions.
From the same site that you just posted. http://www.lhacsports.com/constitution.htm
Why the need for the tiebreakers to determine CONFERENCE Champions if it's not awarded???
FYI, it's on page 7, keep reading...
and for future reference, my name is bdftbllham55, ham will be enough, quit butchering my sn...

Re: Ridge wins County Cup for second consecutive year!
First off, ham, even if the County Cup took into consideration that Bedford won the LHAC in football rather than just their section, that's 5 points rather than 4, not five more points. Second off, Bedford lost to a mid tier LHAC team in the first round of the playoffs. Yes, they did beat them during the regular season. But to go with my Steelers analogy, the Steelers beat the Patriots during the regular season. However, neither team pulled it off WHEN IT COUNTED. That is the most important thing. Would you rather go 9-0 and lose the first round of the playoffs, or go 6-3, make it in as the 8th seed, and get 2 or 3 playoff wins? I think I'd rather have the latter, wouldn't you? Thus, Bedford, the LHAC regular season champs, just like the Steelers, having the best record in the NFL during the regular season, didn't win when it mattered the most. Besides, if losing the County Cup isn't that big a deal, why are you obsessing over one point that wouldn't have made Bedford the winners anyway?

One point in football, one in track. If one more win would have given us the Cup, how could 2 points not matter. Not to mention the 4 points for a District Title that was awarded 0 points. Right there is 6 points.
It's just the matter of the fact that Head Roadie is telling me that there is not a named overall conference champion, when I know for certain, because the plaque is real. I want to know why Bedford is not allotted the full 6 more points, it's not even a matter of winning the dumb cup, it's a matter of not getting all the points that SHOULD have been issued...

Not really adding anything to either side of the debate, as I feel that I've said all that I can say, but Fleaflicker's analogy isn't worth much.
First off, Ham is talking about the regular season title and strictly for the reason of points, not to decipher who was the best team. Bedford was the best team in the LHAC during the regular season (they beat every team they played and were the only unbeaten so I think that constitutes being the best team). Obviously Bedford didn't make it very far despite their great regular season record, but for the sake of Ham's argument, I think he's strictly speaking about the regular season title and could care less, again for the sake of this argument about points for a regular season championship, about what happened in the playoffs.

hey 11th man, maybe you cna help me out here....other than the harris boys...do you know any sophomores that started varsity in football or basketball? in soccer i was the only sophomore in my class to play varsity, and the class after me only had 2 or 3 kids. i guess ridge just must have some stellar athletic sophomores that loose their edge as they become seniors thus making room for more sophomores.

Re: Ridge wins County Cup for second consecutive year!
This past year I can't think of many sophomores who saw significant time in football or basketball. Josh Marshall played a good bit on the hardwood; I think he started a game or two. In football season, I think the only time any sophomore saw action was on either special teams or late in a blowout-- no one saw regular action.
When I was a soph. (2 years ago), Mike Turkovich started on both squads along with Troy Harris as a sophomore. I'd say, though, as a whole it's fairly rare.

Ham:
Talk to your AD or football coach at Bedford, ham. Maybe you will believe them. I have no explanation for the 2000 co-champs if it indeed happened other than perhaps that was the year before J-town, central, and B.Carroll came into the league and perhaps it was a 10 team one section league at that time.
If I am wrong and it is an overall champion then my apologize but somebody in the know (Your Ath. Director or Football Coach) should be letting Sam Shuss know this so the points can be calculated correctly. I certainly have not heard of anything other than sectional champs for the LHAC in football.
Sorry about butchering your name.

it's ok, understand able, it's a dumb name but bison1 won't change it, so blame him. lol. I know that there is one, the football players know it as well, how bedford's AD didn't know, is beyond me.
And Bishop Carrol was in the league when Bedford was undefeated in 2000, they beat them the last game 24-21 i believe.
