There are folks making a fuss about the LV Ram logo. It is close to the Virgina Commonwealth University logo. I say give me a break! Let the kids that have decided to participate in sports and the band enjoy their time in high school. The students chose that logo! Believe me there are plenty of high school mascots that resemble college logos!Blairsville comes to mind. I know that their Bobcat resembles some college Bobcat! I understand that the kids participating are having a ball! Adults please leave them alone! LV sports and extracurriculars are going to be combined even when S.O.R.E. wins the lawsuit. I do admit it seems strange not seeing players above Laurel Valley's school, but we just have to move on!

Just found out United is Playing @ Cambridge Springs in week nine. Boy there is some travel involved, can only imagine how bad it might be if Ligonier Valley is expelled after this year. The best might be to wait until 2012-13 school year to find two openings for everyone left. Even then I can still picture some wild road trips unless some working agreement can be worked out with the West PAC

I would like an 8 team league. Then you could go out and play 2 new teams every couple years. It gets kinda boring playing the same teams every year and then some have even met again in the playoffs. That means the AD's would have to do some work and the Heritage AD's are the most ambitious group.

That obviously makes the most sense. They both have an uneven amount of teams, so filling in the bye weeks in each league or finding a school that would want to switch conferences would be the best thing for both. Now if they send Ligonier Valley packing, then it might get a bit hairy again in finding a second non-conference opponent.

I am not sure if the Heritage has asked LV to leave. However, the LV schoolboard has sent a letter of application to the Laurel Highlands Conference. The Heritage needs to combine with the WestPac. That conference would be the same as the old Appalachian minus Laurel Valley and Bishop Carroll,

I see that Marion Center has added Wyomissing Area, a AA school from d-3 as a week two replacement for Laurel Valley. That is only about 245 miles away. This is why the heritage is going to have to do some real work for football schedules, as one poster listed adding two different schools might be more interesting but with most local conference scheduling inclusive schedules I feel something has to be done or you will see the heritage schools start jumping around like NCAA D1A schools. This would be a real shame since the Hertiage has done such a good job in addition to team sports to have band, cheerleading and schoolastic compitions

I'm hearing via my Bedford County friends that Ligonier and Chestnut Ridge are going to the LHAC. Ligonier already applied and Chestnut Ridge has a deadline (sometime soon) to apply but why wouldn't they? They are league-less.

From what you are hearing is this for 2011-12 or 2012-13? Just wondering, but with this being the first year of a two year cycle I can see LHAC wanting to wait until 2012-13.
