Doesn't seem likely.

The Heritage is at 11 teams now with the United-Blacklick Valley and Conemaugh-Ferndale co-ops. Do they go and try to secure another member, and who would they approach? Glendale? Leechburg? Years ago there was talk that they—Leechburg—would join the conference, but that never materialized.

Or perhaps we could just speculate on the next two teams to co-op. Purchase Line and Penn Manor? Conemaugh Valley Ferndale United and Blacklick Valley?

I was disappointed to see Forest Hills off CC’s football schedule this year
Did you miss it in Sidman? The Rangers were 'in control' sort of, the game when Hobbs Dill did a pick6, then busted a long run down the sideline. Just a hard loss to take for us. But we still made the playoffs.

Huh? I’m saying it sucks to lose an annual rivalry off your schedule, we scrimmage FH in football next year but don’t play them in regular season….

If you’re talking about the last game, I thought it was a good game between two similar teams. The difference ultimately between CC and FH last year was Damon Crawley didn’t go down with a season ending injury 10 plays into the very next game.

My mistake, I wasn't thinking of CC in the future. You said this year, and I thought you might have meant this past season, as the school year isn't over yet. I too thought it was a good game, and pretty much from there on, FH went almost exclusively with the Wildcat. And yes, too bad about Dill. Glad he came back for hoops season.

LHAC will vote next week on expansion
“Charlie Burch, [Bellwood-Antis] athletic director, read a prepared statement, and said he preferred not to take any questions. The take from the [ICC] group is that they are probably 90 percent if not 99 percent gone.”

LHAC Expansion vote

Post by ShouldaCouldaWoulda »

LHAC Expansion
The Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference voted today to extend invitations to 14 area school districts to join the LHAC for the 2023-24 season. Five of the school districts (Meyersdale, North Star, Berlin, Conemaugh Township, and Windber) approved a move to the LHAC in February. The invitation will be on an upcoming Board agenda for the other nine schools. Those nine schools are: Tyrone, Bellwood, Huntingdon, Clearfield, Phillipsburg-Oceola, Bellefonte, Bald Eagle Area and Hollidaysburg (which was invited for all sports except football).
The league will be regionalized to create yearly rivalries and minimize travel, with championships between sections in certain sports, along with league wide championships in individual events. It is also the goal of the league to include academic competitions along with this expansion.
A committee of athletic directors from the expanded league will be formed to work on the new sections of the conference. It is anticipated that proposals will be designed by late April with approval from all schools of the alignment coming in early May.
"A special thank you to those members of the expansion committee who took a small idea that started back in June and massaged it into what could be a great conference. I think the opportunities that this creates for the student-athletes of the LHAC is wonderful."
