Unfortunately zealous idealism you two show will most likely be tempered with a big dose of reality once you guys actually have to make a living in the real world and support yourself and a family. It easy to be an idealist when you have no dependents or obligations and enjoy it while it lasts because the realities of a family, car payments, and mortgages will change your perspectives on things.

What part of "illegal" are some of you not understanding? If anyone wants to come to our country to live, there is a standard protocol to follow, the same one most of our ancestors followed when they came into this country years ago. In the 1920's, what would have happened if a stowaway was found on a ship entering our country? I'm sure he would have been wisked away and returned to where he came from. The rest of the newcomers on that same ship, the one's who did so properly, were allowed to stay and go about their business. NO ONE on here is saying that Mexicans should keep out of our country. But we do feel they should come here through proper channels. Sneaking across the border is just not how things are done.

Go back and find one single post where I said I didn't want Mexicans in America.

As someone said it earlier, I am not against immigration - just illegal immigration. You want to come and live in this country, go about it the right way. And what I want to know is, how can someone in this country illegally get a drivers license? Absurd.

How many drivers licenses did the terrorist on 9/11 have? Don't you think having borders like a sieve is a danger to national security? If there's one thing I disagree with our President on, it's his soft policy on illegal immigration.

This isn't being anti-Mexican, or anti-Candian, or anti-anything. It's about protecting our borders from dangerous people. 99% of those crossing are only coming to work. It's the 1% that worries me. If you don't crack down on illegal crossings, how can you possibly find that 1%?

And why do you automatically assume that our beliefs, and stand on issues, is sinister? Maybe, just maybe, our position on issues is what we believe is best for our country.

The Mexicans wouldn't be so shady if they would at least try to get a legal passport instead of sprinting across the border or swimming across the Rio Grande. I definately don't want the ones that sneak across in the country.

Just out of curiosity (I honestly don't know the answer). How many Minutemen (one's actually part of that program) used their weapons during that project? How many even pulled their weapons?

Does it matter? They had weapons. For their own personal protection? Come on now. You think those idiots wouldn't have shot somebody if someone made a rush for the border? Yeah right. Anyone who would do that is already unstable to begin with. I cannot believe their employers were ok with them doing that, when all the employers had to do was stop hiring Mexicans! If they can't get work, it's basically pointless. Illegal immigrants don't just apply for welfare.

Let's say your daughter is pretty hot. There's all kinds of guys who hit on her and obviously want to sleep with her. Who's fault is it when she does it?

Of course it matters. You don't think those guys didn't notice anyone making a run for the border? Did they start firing volleys at the backs of illegal immigrants? No they didn't. They simply picked up a cell phone and made a call. You instantly assume these guys were just out for blood simply because they're conservatives. The Minutemen were not breaking any laws, no matter how hard you try to pin it on them. They provided a service to prove a point - that our borders can be protected with appropriate resources.

Let's put this back to something maybe you can comprehend. Let's say you're leading a group of homosexuals to rally at a compound for white supremists tucked far away in the hills of North Dakota. Would you carry a gun for protection? Just because you have it, doesn't mean you'll use it (although you would probably need to).
