Re: LHAC 2008
They've always been a sectional game since the inception of the LHAC back in, what, '88? It would have been pretty far back I guess.
Re: LHAC 2008
I know that FH didn't play BM the year FH went to the state championship in 1994. I think FH started playing BM in '95, winning that game and the one in '96. Did not play each other in '97, but FH won again in '98. From what I remember, Northern Cambria, an original member of the conference, decided to leave the LHAC and BM took their place. That's how BM got into the conference.
Re: LHAC 2008
FH did not play McCort in '91, '92, or '93. In '91, FH was undefeated until they lost to Aliquippa in the Western Finals. In '92, FH was district 6 champ but lost to Bedford in the 5-6 AA championship. In '93, FH lost to Washington in the Western finals. Not sure if FH played BM before 1991. So it looks like the 1997 season was the last time that FH and BM did not play a game.

Re: LHAC 2008
I should have made my previous post a bit clearer, I was referring to CC as a sectional game. IN NO WAY did I ( GOD forbid) intentionally or unintentionally bring up BM.
Re: LHAC 2008
No need to be defensive there Sarge!
I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."

Re: LHAC 2008
As I mentioned before, you guys supporting McCort are confusing criticism with hate. Alot of things have been brought up on this site about BM. Just go back to the Tribune for example. Alot of our topics have been supported in print. There was the article about McCort's assistant track coach trying to recruit a kid from Johnstown High. There was the article about Salem's onside kick written by Cory Isenberg. There was all the high-jinx over a BM football player's recruiting escapades with Pitt. There was the article from BM's athletic director blowing BM's horn in the sports section about BM's football and basketball coaches "getting an extension". Bringing up topics like this that have been substantiated in print are far from topics of hate. Hate is different. Accusing the FH school district of racism when a player transfers to McCort is more like it. Accusing FH, without proof, for helping deny AW his opportunity to play sports his senior year, is hate. Accusing a FH referee of causing BM to lose a basketball game is also hatred. These last 3 are examples of how someone digs up stories about a school when there is absolutely NO proof of the accusations. Maybe you BM guys should re-examine who's doing the hating around here.
Re: LHAC 2008
Wow, Like I said earlier I have been just reading Bleachercoaches for mostly entertainment over the past 5 years. Back a few moons ago, before the land was sherrifed by V-Man, there was an old sheriff- " El-Moldo". He and his posse, the likes of Kiltman, Pale Rider and few others I can't recall, were the main contributors to not so much Bleachercoaches but to LHSports.. To say they slammed Forest Hills down your throat is in my opinion an undestatement. However, at the time the Rangers were by far the best high school football program in the area. They had great hard nosed players and in my opinion, still today, the best head coach around. As the sheriff and his posse reminded you, they won numerous LH Titles and many District VI Championships.. My God, How many times did we hear about McCort's one little banner hanging in their gym... Things were great in Ranger Country!!
However like all great empires changes come and new things take over.. Unfortunately for the sheriff and his posse, this end came at the hands of a smaller private, CATHOLIC school. The record between the two is what it is. However, McCort has held the advantage the past few years. There can't be another school who won that many games at Sidman the past 5 years. So after years of torchure from the Sheriff and his posse, Here comes v-man to set things straight. Now do I believe evrything v-man writes? Hell No!! But at least he has the balls to stick to his guns and stand up to something he had to listen to for 10 years. I'm sure V-man has some hate too, but not nearly as much as El-Moldo and others on here. Do I believe everything Salem does is right? Hell no, but at least he fights for what he believes in..
The bottom line is the Hatred against private/Catholic schools is out there and it is real. I will admit that McCort does have an advantage when it comes to getting students. They are in the game of private education, which whether you like it or not, is not going to go away. Until kids, or more importantly, parents, stay in on sytem, private or public for all 12 years nothing is going to change .I know every topic turns into this so I will end now. I'm glad I didn't start posting earlier.. I may have been the new Sheriff!! Go V-Man!!
