Guys, I agree that Richland's run D is poor, but is it alot worse than some of the other teams McCort has beaten already? Mccort ran all over PC and Somerset and the starters were out of the game in the 3rd quarter. BM put 69 points up because the score was 49-35 with 10:30 left in the game. Plus, Richland scored so dang quick that BM's offense was constantly on the field. This was the first game that the Crusher starters played in the majority of the second half, and they will score and rack up yards when they are on the field. They didn't beat Richland any worse than any other team (except BC). BM is just unstoppable on the ground, and they can pretty much score at will on any area team (and will against Portage- sorry P-alum but portage isn't better then Richland, FH,Johnstown, or maybe PC). That being said, Richland does need to do something to shore up their pitiful run defense. Maybe a change in coordinator is needed. I didn't notice any real adjustments on defense, they basically stayed in a 5-2 invert. They blitzed a fair amount inside but they were getting killed off tackle, and because of the blitz their Linebackers were not there to scrap and make a play. I imagine that their safeties were supposed to play run support in the invert but they just weren't getting there. If they could just cut what they give up on the ground in half, with the offense that they have, they could actually win D6 AA. Their next true test will be in Sidman in three weeks.

Wonder why no one mentioned this yet about the Richland/BM game Friday night? What's up with "Salem opted to have his team take a knee on the final extra-point attempt rather than score 70 points". Is this some kind of "moral high road" stuff that McCort is famous for? Seriously, how humiliating is THAT to the other team??? That's even worse than the onside kick Salem called for several years ago when beating Richland big in the 4th quarter. ANY opposing coach would take offense to BM pulling a stunt like that. If you're not going to take a knee late in the game while on offense with a 28 point lead, especially when your starting team was in for the scoring of the 63rd point, then just kick the dang point. Why the mercy? How humiliating.

That's a little bit of a stretch. It's one thing to make the playoffs, another thing to win D6. The Rams need a way to go to get to the latter.

Funny. But isn't scoring on 9 straight possessions is humiliating enough?

I'd personally like to see them try to score on 10 straight this Saturday on the Hilltop.
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!

What does that prove by humiliating a team like that? You have no class at all do you?

i'd be interested to know what the length of each scoring drive was for mccort. were there any fumbles or interceptions by richland deep in the end to lead to a short field?

There is a difference between dominance and humiliation. What's more humiliating: getting blown out or having the other team pull their punches NOT TO SCORE too many points against you, especially when moments before they had every chance NOT to score that 69th point. The game was over for all intents and purposes when the starters left after point 63 was scored on an eight yard run. No second stringer could carry it into the endzone from that far out? and why rub it in with that 10th touchdown? Ever hear of the victory formation? And then all of the sudden REFUSE to kick the extra point. How degrading. At least Richland had a chance to stop that last touchdown. Refusing to kick that extra point was like showing Richland "who's the boss". It was a jab at Richland's program.

Coach carter- Its not just the point mccort ran all over them, its the point that EVERYONE has career rushing days on them these last 3 seasons when they clearly have a capable team. Reed, Somersets backs, keklak, mehall the list keeps getting bigger, when can something be changed for the better? Wont win anything till that is fixed along with better run plays for the cold playoff days.

Crimsom crazy- of coarse they did not pass there a PURE running team pretty much

Moldo- do you really expect anything less from Salem and Company, especially after two years ago and the humilation of not getting adequet revenge last year, the Crimsom faithful were demanding a blowout last year which did not occur; no need to worry 69 points will do. As has been proven before, what goes around comes around and simply looking at the numbers, mccort will have its day, unless they REALLY pick up the recruiting.
