UConn is rated as a top 35 team by some publications because with Ws comes a higher ranking. They can get those with their schedule being as terrible as it is. They could be a decent team, but look great because of their conference games that are terrible...plus some out of conference monsters!

Th. 1 BUFFALO 7:30 p.m.
Sa.10 LIBERTY
Sa.17 at Georgia Tech 6:45 p.m. ESPNU
OCTOBER
Sa. 1 at Army ESPN Networks
Fr. 7 SYRACUSE* 8:00 p.m. ESPN2
Sa.15 at Cincinnati*
Sa.22 RUTGERS* (Homecoming)
NOVEMBER
We. 2 at West Virginia* 7:30 p.m. ESPN2
Sa.12 at Pittsburgh*
Sa.26 SOUTH FLORIDA*
DECEMBER
Sa. 3 LOUISVILLE*

Buffalo, Liberty, Army, Cincy, SF ...they will probably beat all those teams. They can split GT, SYR, RUT, WVU, PITT, LOUSVILLE. They won't though...they will maybe win 2 of those and be 2-4. That puts them at 7 wins and 4 losses. That will get you a ranking around 35.

Louisville is a good football team and will show they deserve a top 25 ranking. However, let's not be gullible enough to think that the top 25'ers don't put teams in those rankings just to make the games look more exciting. And to make conferences look more credible.

You know what's funny? Take the 1/3 away from Beaver Stadium who are "just there for the atmosphere". Penn State's attendance is still better than Pitt's. But Moldo is good at spinning things and convincing himself he's rational, so let it pass.

There are millions of things to do in Pittsburgh, folks. Like eat. And look at rust. And think about the Steelers. And go on the incline. And try to count the rats that run across your table at The O. Yep, that about covers it. Attention all kids: if you are looking for a bigger, more depressing Johnstown, move to Pittsburgh. All your dreams will come true in the land of enchantment.

A few posters are trying to educate us brainwashed Penn State fans? I seem to remember a lot of Pitt fans jumping ship during the 90's when Pitt was horrible. Enough of this senseless crap Pitt fans will be Pitt fans and Penn State fans will be Penn State fans. Comparing Pittsburgh to Johnstown I think not.

Yeah Ham, I remember that too. Pitt was ranked 44th in the BCS when they got their seventh win and clinched the Big East (by best record against common opponents of the four tied teams, and then a better ranking than Syracuse). Then the AP Poll and Coaches poll caught wind that Pitt had clinched it and decided it wouldn't look good to have the best Big Weak team out of the top 25, so both moved them up quite a ways, and a week later, Pitt was 19th in the BCS rankings. That's quite a difference for one week.

The press did the same thing in 1982 when PSU won their first national championship. Paterno had never won one, so they gave it to him, DESPITE being SLAUGHTERED by Alabama mid-way thru that season. Funny how things work out isn't it?

1 loss team, 5 loss team, 1 loss team, 5 loss team... hmm, I wonder which situation is more pathetic?

the thing is moldo, that PSU was good enough to be considered for the NC before hand, It's not thier fault that Alabama couldn't win out and take it by storm. Pitt jumped from 44 to 19 in one week after clinching a BS birth, DON'T EVEN compare those two situations.
