Bill O'Brien recruiting.
Re: Bill O'Brien recruiting.
Kudos to Paul Chryst for "suspending" Carl Fleming immediately from all team activities. Now that's my kind of coach. By the way, how is Devon Smith's practice going with the Nits. Funny, the "raid" on his apartment happened March 14th, yet 1) Smith has not been suspended from the program, 2) NO statement has been issued from PSU's athletic department, and 3) O'Brien just found out about the incident on March 26th. And to think Shawn Oakman was banished Immediately for shoplifting. In Smith's apartment were found multiple blunts, a bottle of liquor, a grinder for grinding marijuana leaves, a scale, a plastic bag with suspected marijuana and prescription pills. PSU has to be careful with him. He did have 25 receptions last year and 425 yards receiving. It would be tough to lose him, right?

I would also like to say Kudo's to Paul Chryst for being so boring that no recruits want anywhere near Pitt right now. Way to keep that ship steady paul....full steam ahead!
Re: Bill O'Brien recruiting.
Way to skirt the issue. Depth chart justice. Let's see what happens.
Re: Bill O'Brien recruiting.
Seriously, isn't it unusual that Coach O'Brien didn't find out about Devon Smith's drug related issue for FOURTEEN DAYS???????? Didn't PSU learn anything about cover-ups from the Sandusky affair? Maybe they thought the Devon Smith affair would just go away. It's got to be embarrassing when O'Brien has a news conference and a reporter asks him about a drug related incident involving one of his players and he knows nothing about it. It's one thing if Paterno didn't know. He didn't know what day it was half the time. But O'Brien????? Are you sure he's head coach material?

If every coach could be like Paul Chryst, this world would be a better place. We already know he is head coach material just based off how he handled the Pitt Arrest. I would say put him in the College Football hall of fame, immediately. The bottom line is Pitt does everything the right way. They are the model school of this era. Every school thrives to be like Pitt. They do no wrong!

Re: Bill O'Brien recruiting.
Boy are you wrong about Paul Chryst, Kirk.
I thought that every college coach strived to be like Joe Paterno? You know, Success With Honor? The Grand Experiment? Harboring a coach who was known to have committed unspeakable crimes for over 2 decades and allowing him to travel with the team to bowl games along with his victims on the PSU dime?
Wait until the proof comes out that Paterno knew about 1998, then assisted in the coverup in 2002.
He did his duty and reported it all to his superiors, though didn't he?
Paterno was indeed a true hero in my book.
Looks like that PSU football tradition of Depth Chart Justice is continuing...The O'Brien Way.

Oh nice some fresh new perspective from Titan. I think Pitt football is the model program in the country. Pitt fans should be proud their university is ran so perfectly and have no trouble makers. Kind of amazing in Oakland kids could stay so clean!
Re: Bill O'Brien recruiting.
what new is going on here JD
Re: Bill O'Brien recruiting.
kirk: Here's what's amazing. Pitt players, in an urban environment, get into FAR LESS trouble than Penn State players in a rural environment.

Re: Bill O'Brien recruiting.
Well we know why that is....it's the same reason no one goes to Pitt games. There are so many other things to do like Kennywood, Carnegie Science Center, Primantis sanwiches, The Casino.
Now lets think of things logically here. Are Pitt players angels or do they just not get caught? The only thing police in State college are "policing" are college kids for the most part. In Pittsburgh, the students are a minute number compared to other people in the city. Also, you do realize Pitt was ranked number 1 in arrests in the nation about 2 years ago? I'd be willing to bet if we found out the amount of actual crimes committed by most schools we would be shocked. I'd be more than half the team does something illegally each year. They just don't get caught!
