Letter to the editor in the TD today...ARE YOU KIDDING ME
Re: Letter to the editor in the TD today...ARE YOU KIDDING M
HAHAHAhAhhahahahahahahahahhah whew, ahem.....ok! Mr. man on the board of trustees. Uh......education, a math class at Bishop McCort is still math at Portage. English at Bishop McCort is still english at Johnstown. Don't you dare give me the faith and moral thing. I'VE SEEN YOUR KIDS and I'VE HEARD THEM. If that's the kind of morals and behavior we teach at the "private" schools........my kids will NEVER attend. As far as the following of PIAA rules sure I guess you can twist it anyway you like. However, if you really wanted to follow PIAA rules....then do this.........take the enrollment for all schools that you pull from and then what would you be classified as? That's how all other public schools have to do it. Let's not forget that those public schools have boundaries t

As long as we're speculating. I'd agree with the voucher system.
It would create competition amongst schools, and we all know that competition produces better results.
Those that fail to produce results would be left to fail. Those who produced the best results would, well, probably continue to do the same thing.
Under this system, schools like Ferndale would fail to exist. And now that we're talking about Ferndale, why does it exist in the first place? As far as I can tell, (and this is only my own opinion), Ferndale exists on the grounds that some in what would be the Johnstown school district refuse to share a school district with African Americans. One needs only the company of an African American friend and the Ferndale PD to notice such blatant racism. Don't believe me? Try it.

I still thinks this all goes back to my theory, get better public schools. quit looking for reasons to complain about losing.
Because I can look at teams from D7 and D3 ect. and public schools some how magically can beat catholic schools? So if a school with 105 boys in Pittsburgh can beat a catholic school how come a school with a 105 boys in district 6 can't do it? You see what im saying, teams around here just complain when they dont win, teams over there work harder get better and dont complain about catholic schools. Im sorry i dont see it any other other way. I got bashed for saying this before, but honestly i dont care its the truth. McCort doesnt recruit and the public schools around here should put a little more effort into winning rather then looking for excuses as to why they arent winning.

Why does Westmont exist? Why does Richland exist? Why does Conemaugh Valley exist? Why does Greater Johnstown exist?Username6 wrote:

Your opinion is all wet. Ferndale has been in existence for a long time. Greater Johnstown was graduating close to 1000 kids when Ferndale came into existence. Dale, Franklin and East Conemaugh had schools back then too.

Crimson, don't you realize that all them schools are inter-city. They have athletes out of the gazoo. How many kids from District 7 or 3 go D1 each year compared to District 5 and 6? There's my point! You run your mouth, but you would be complaining if McCort was playing PRIVATE schools each week. Public schools around here don't carry athletes every year like they do in the inter-city.Crimson09Crazy wrote:I still thinks this all goes back to my theory, get better public schools. quit looking for reasons to complain about losing.

ALL private schools that are good at any sport RECRUIT! Why do you think they are so good each year and out. Every school has years where there just ins't athletes, but consequently that never happens at McCort. McCort recruits, get over yourself.

^^^^^^^Username6 wrote:You're all so passionate. I love when you're passionate!
How bout a little passion, though, for those people who truly have a disadvantage in life. How about a little passion for those born with nothing. For those who can't get the same education that we all can get. And don't have the opportunity to play high school sports.
I'm sure that now you can feel for them-- now that life has screwed you over too.
Yeah i guess its just a coincidence that most of the kids that have a ''disadvantage in life'' and that end up at BM are all good at sports...
And the three kids that came from Windber did make a difference, you guys wouldn't be a championship caliber team without Shane Rugg or his brother(don't know if he plays on the offensive line) clearing a path for your precious little running back. Oh and don't tell me you have anybody on your team other than Seidel that is as skilled as Dane Domonkos.. Sorry but you dont.
But anyways if they do recruit so what. One day it will catch up to them in some way..Nothing any of us say is going to make a difference, it is what it is.. we'll all just have to deal with it.
Re: Letter to the editor in the TD today...ARE YOU KIDDING M
Please define "better public schools." Westmont Hilltop and Richland are academically two of the top schools in the area, based on standardized test scores. Both have extremely high graduation rates, as well as rate of students who go on to continue their education. Why leave those schools for academic reasons?
Re: Letter to the editor in the TD today...ARE YOU KIDDING M
Because nowhere else in Johnstown can you:
1.)Get a great education
2.)Meet kids from all walks of life
3.)Look so good winning
It's not a hard concept to grasp. Why more people haven't seen the light is beyond my post-pubescent mind.

Hey Windber people, get it through youre heads that Dane Domonkos was never going to play for you. Look at his family they all went to McCort. All youre doing is trying to make youre WEAK **** argument better.
bbsocceralumni, i cant take you seriously because you're just another brainwashed person from a small town that think the world is out to get you. I'm sorry we dont recruit. parents choose to send their kid here. I dont understand why that is so hard to imagine for some people. Maybe these kids come to McCort to get away from the crazy fans at their own school?

It doesnt matter if his brothers went there or not. He lives in another school district. thats what recruiting is.. they get kids from other school districts and get them to come to there school.
It has nothing to do with ''hey you windber people'' i was just stating that he lives in windber. Im sure theres kids from other schools that go to BM I was just giving an example.
