Moldy you really aren't doing a good job. I am not sure how to tell you this but this isn't a theory. It's facts. These aren't made up records. It's basically telling you that since 1950 Pitt has been a .500 team. A team that has finished ranked in the top 25 15 times in 60 years. Including this year, 4 times in the past 26. This isn't manipulation it's reality. I'm still waiting on you to find me proof otherwise.
As for the 9-3 season you referred to. Pitt has finished with 3 losses 5 times since 1982, but never less than 3. I don't really think anything has to be said about that.

HAHAHA!THE NITS HAVE BEEN TO THE FINAL FOUR MORE RECENTLY THAN PITT! Oh God, I will certainly never forget that little tidbit, Pitt retards!!!! 8)
Hey Moldy, here's some of your own medicine: Penn State losing all the time is not nearly as hurtful as Pitt being overrated and losing close games in the tourney. THOSE ARE THE ONES THAT REALLY HURT.

Sorry about the delay. Just finished watching Pitt beat Cincinnati on the road in Men's basketball. Can't say enough about Pitt's team this year so far. And how young they are. WOW!!! Anyway, I'm not debating anyone's records. Who really cares about them? I'm just wondering about who declares whether a team is good or not. Obviously, our messageboard user from fightonstate has his opinion about what good is. Kirk has determined that being a National Contender means you are good. He said so himself. So ANYONE who is not in the preseason top 15, or finishes in the top 15, is NOT good because they are/were not in National Contention. If that is the TRUE definition of GOOD, then lots of teams aren't.

It's funny. Yesterday while watching PSU being dismantled at home by Wisconsin for the 11th time in a row, I was wondering when PSU made any significant run at the NCAA Championship in basketball. Now I know. When was that? 1954? Great, that's something for Them to hang their hats on. Another thing funny about the Wisconsin game was, Jon Crispin ( who bailed out on Penn State's basketball program as a player), was the color guy for the game. I don't think PSU made the NCAA's since his brother Joe played. Nowadays, that is pathetic. Go back you guys, and relive 1954. It ain't helping you now.

If I recall joe then transferred out west to UCLA.....i bet the academics were much easier there

And again,....I cant believe he didnt know when the last time psu was in the final four or the national title game in bball! Wow...and he thinks he knows his stuff about his alma mater.....oops my bad enima. I forgot you never went there.

So that's really all you have as an argument Moldo? "Forget records who cares about them anyway?" Typical Pitt football wisdom at it's finest.

Define "good" and we'll argue some more. I don't know what else YOU want. You're saying that Pitt has a losing record for 54 out of the last 60 years. O.K. That's great. But that doesn't mean Pitt was BAD for 54 years. YOUR thinking is all skewed. You're gonna lump all those horrible years Pitt had in the mid 60's to the early '70's into the mix to bring down Pitt's total win/loss records in the last 54 years???? Isn't that some kind of SELECTED bias in your accounting. Take out those 6 GREAT years you say Pitt had in the last 60 years and not include them in Pitt's win/loss ratio to make it come out on the losing end. NIce try. Again, who's setting those parameters in your discussion. Purposely leaving out 6 great years to skew Pitt's total. How about if we also take out Pitt's 6 WORSE seasons to even things up. Seems fair, doesn't it? Take out the 6 best years and the 6 worst years and see how the record looks for the other 48 years that are left. VOILA!!!!!!!! No more losing record. WE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Pitt Basketball 9-4 in last 13 games vs. TOP FIVE TEAMS.
As for TAE having a ball about PSU's 1954 final four appearance in basketball, got news for him. IT WAS THEIR ONLY ONE!!!! HAHAHAHA. PSU has had only ONE final four appearance in men's basketball, and ONE other sweet 16 appearance. So in about one hundred years of college basketball, that's ONE FINAL FOUR and ONE OTHER SWEET 16 appearance. How pathetic is that? No wonder PSU students rushed the floor last year when they beat Illinois in a regular season game. They didnt know how to act. Meanwhile Pitt has had 2 national championships in men's basketball, ONE final four, three elite 8's and 7 sweet 16's. That includes FIVE sweet 16's in the last 8 years. Unbelieveable the difference in programs. Unbelieveable.
