No one has forgotten about Bedford. They are definitely the favorite going into Districts. No one really came close to them at the Thomas Tournament. However, I think NBC has a good chance of sending more wrestlers to the Regional tournament than Bedford. Both schools have a lot of quality wrestlers, so it will be interesting to see how that all shakes out at Districts. Seeding plays a huge role at the District Tournament.

I see. So you are claiming seedings are the reason Bedford has won the past 3 titles? I thought seedings at Thomas and Districts went on a point system now?

Sportsfanatic, You might want to rethink some of your possible regional qualifiers. I think Roadman might come up a little short with Roberts, Replogle, and Weimert at 103. As for Geisler at 125 he is gonna have to wrestle better than he has in the past. Lascari, Cahill, Gartland, Crites, and the kid from Shade.
Bedford is clearly the favorite to take 1st at districts but if you take a good look at all the weights NBC might possibly be in the running too.

I don't think it's any secret that Bedford seeds the wreslters so that even their lower tier guys can win a few matches at Thomas...

So explain how seeding is done. I was under the impression most tourney's now went on some type of a point system??

The Thomas Tournament definately goes by a point system. So many points for past champs of the tournament and criterias like if you beat a state place winner in the season so many points for that and other things. Bedford gets some good points from wrestling the King of the Mountain. Lots of state placewinners there.

I personally would like to wish all the county wrestlers luck at Districts and Regionals. As many as we can get out from District 5 the better, I hate that every year at this time people get all defensive over the schools and the rivalries get worse, I just love the sport and alot of the great wrestlers in it. Just cant get enough wrestling!!!

I disagree, NBC is the team to beat in D5. They have too much balance for a top heavy Bedford team. If both teams wrestle well, NBC should still win the team title in my opinion.
