why sub-par .500 teams shouldn't make playoffs
Re: why sub-par .500 teams shouldn't make playoffs
That was my point with the west pac vs sideling hill teams. Two different conferences, one tough (sideling) one weak (west pac). I can see playoffs with two different conf. because sideling beats each other up to have some teams with 500 or less records, and ex. This year shade has no competition then plays a sideling hill team at 500 and gets knocked off. If teams were in the same conference for the initial playoff(d-5) this 500 and below would never knock off the shade!!! Different conferences I can see a 500 team playing playoffs, but not the same like a meyersdale and shanksville whom shade beat twice already by combined scores of mey. by 26 and 22 and shank. by 26 and 35. Shade and shanksville are in the semis to see who goes to the championship game and we destroyed them with the j.v playing half the game!!! D-5 was never like this!! Competition is horrible. Teams are that bad! What kind of semifinal game is this going to be, another running clock finished by the j.v of shade. Shade 76 shanksville 30. This will be close to the final unless fyock pulls his starters earlier than usual. Nice semifinal game to watch huh???????

If District 6 put a rule in at single A that only the top eight go, you would hear two teams raising a fuss, Bishop Guilfoyle and Bishop Carroll. It would not effect the Huskies this season, who are going to win District 6A this year and went in with a .500 record but Guilfoyle would have not qualified. District five makes you qualify and nobody whines about it because they are all public schools. The Private schools are a whole different animal regardless of enrollment. You can throw the records out with them.

District 6 is no better than District 5 the competition is down. Watched BC three times and they are not a very good basketbal team but I think will win the District. A lot of hustle!
Conemaugh Valley beat a solid Glendale team to move on the semi-finals, Blacklick Valley knocked out the 5 seed before being eliminated by Northern Cambria. And why I say this is that the WestPAC takes a beating but I do not think any of the leagues are that tough this season.
